What do you do with an ugly quilt in progress?

I really like your quilt. Sure, it's not my usual color choices, but the fabrics all match well. Perhaps it's the pattern you chose or the placement of the colors, but it's fine as it is.

I remember the best croissants in Montreal and Toronto. Huge things and fresh butter..mmmm. (i can feel the calories gather at my hips just thinking about them...)

Hi

I had expected to see an "ugly quilt" but this one is by no means ugly! I really like it, but now I'm wondering if that means I like ugly quilts.

I hope you keep going with it. In answer to the "what would you do?" question.. I would pinpoint what exactly I didn't like about it and modify that.

Pati, I think you nailed it on the head, it's too matchy matchy. I will look for a zinger piece in my stash that could help it pop! Thank you for you commenting on this aspect. And....thanks to all for posting on this thread. I've gotten some good pointers and it's a comfort to know that you all have encountered a "what was I thinking" quilt along the way! lol Donna

Ruby: Better later than never!! It is good to see you here. Welcome to the Land of RCTQ. We have fun here, no moderator, no rules. The only thing you really need to know is that it is very wise to have your chocolate vetted. Just send a pound or two to the Office of the Official Chocolate Taster of RCTQ, which is in my Palace here in Virginia. I will test and taste and report back via email. You don't have to thank me ... this is my unselfish volunteer duty in RCTQ. A tough job, but someone's gotta do it. :)

I have happy memories of sitting in the sun on a park bench eating a parisien baguette fresh from the oven. Yup, sometimes the simple things are the best.

In France a baked-for-breakfast baguette is 'stale' by lunchtime, so they bake again for that.

That mornings baguette makes excellent coutons with toasted cheese for lunchtime's home made onion soup...
