what's your favorite while quilting?

Ooo! Oooo! Wicked is a must-see. For anyone. It's my alltime new favorite show. My old alltime faves are CATS, Les Miz, Cabaret, Evita, Rent. Sherry

I usually have something on all the time, even if it's just the local oldies station on the radio. Unless I'm doing something that requires serious concentration, like paying bills or taxes or such. I got a Bose Wave radio for my birthday a few years back. I think I"ve enjoyed it about as much as anything I've ever gotten.

most of the time. I have several stations set up with favorite groups and artists. They also play stuff I've never heard of before.

I listen to blues, oldies, rock, hard rock and even heavy metal at times.

Mostly if I'm alone on a car trip----I love Yanni, old country music, and hammered dulcimer. Gen

I am one of the (seemingly)few who do like country music, but not bluegrass. Grew up on it and still like it. Also like some Middle Eastern (aka belly dancing music), and folk, and Celtic. Love the Irish Rovers, who are now in Canada and went to a few of their concerts when they were in the area. DH really likes "classic folk" and has found a source for some that he had given up ever finding. (I can find out what the catalog/company is if any wants to know.) I also like some really off the wall stuff. Used to listen to Fireside Theater and Cheech and Chong and stuff along those lines. While my tin ear causes problems with singing in public, I love music I can sing along with in the car, and sometimes at home. I also picked up all 4 of the CDs put out by "The Singing Quilter" whose name currently escapes me. But she writes and performs songs about quilts/quilting and so on, and her husband joins in on some. He has also written one called something like "The Husband's Lament" that is hilarious. I may decide to pick up some of Ricky Tims music CDs too. I have seen him perform once and he is great.

I don't have much, if any, hammered dulcimer music. Off to check into this. Thanks,

Yes, I have heard Ricky Tims, very good! Those Irish Rovers are tons of fun. What a great discussion this has turned into, how fun!

I usually have the Minnesota Public Radio (MPR) classical music station on unless it's opera. On Sundays between 01 and 3, I'll be listening to their news station where they have some of my favorite programs: Speaking of Faith, Prairie Home Companion, Car Talk, and Wait, Wait Don't Tell Me. MPR also streams their programing at

Otherwise, I'll grab a CD. Maybe Chant or something by Greg Brown (folksy-blues) or Prudence Johnson (mostly jazz).

I like to listen to the golden oldies (okay so I am a golden oldie). Moastly Beatles and that era. Puts me into a creative mood.

Yes, for anyone who has followed even roughly Sir Paul's career, it can only be an inspiraton to creativity that's for sure!
