Hello all -
As it is the beginning of the school year, the teachers ask if parents are interested in volunteering in the classroom or showing/teaching hobbies etc...so, being the glutton for punishment that I am...I said I'd love to show the kids quilting/sewing. Well, Ms. Zadi (rhymes with lady) called on Friday and asked if I'd be willing to come and talk with the kids. Seems they will be covering a book later in the year that is about quilting and she believes it will work really well to have the two coincide. So, my question is this: have any ideas on what I should do with the kids? I was thinking of taking a quilt or two in to show them and then have them help me make a quilt (which we would then give to Ms. Zadi when finished...) I haven't yet taught my son to sew or do anything with quilting and don't know where to start with this age group. (6ish) I also don't know the name of the book...yet.
Can anyone help or give suggestions???
TIA!!! Sue
