So, DH has a lovely youn coworker (married) who is expecting her first child in September. I thought a nice quilt would be good for her. DH then reminded me that his former office always put a quilt together for the first child in the family, born while a parent was employed there. So...he volunteered me to coordinate a quilt for this young lady, with blocks from the other women in the office (only 3 others at this point).Ok, not a problem (well...that will be discussed later), but that means I put the quilt that I was doing on hold while I wait for the others to get their blocks finished and back to me. Today in SUnday School, we were reminded about a baby shower for one of our classmates, expecting her second child (first child is severely disabled and takes a lot of their time money, and energy, so they really don't have a lot of extra...anything). I automatically thought of the quilt I was working on. The focus fabric has various saying relating to God and his omnipresence in our lives. Seems perfect for them!So, I ran it by DH tonight because he knew that I had been working on it for Jenelle. He said he didn't see why I was making her a quilt anyway when I have already given them our crib, highchair, and all the clothes that DD has outgrown, not to mention the "men's diaper bag" that I made for her hubby and the clothes that I couldn't resist buying. Guess that clinches it.Have to have a little talk to the quilt tonight (yes, I talk to the fabrics/quilts, pray over them, sometimes argue with them )....that way, everything is cleared up, both in my sewing room and in my head.Now, onto the blocks that have been delivered for the office quilt for Jenelle . I said, "12.5 inches or 6.5 inches so that I could sqaure them up and whatnot. Well.....none of the women have quilted before and one told me that they used a regular ruler and tried to estimate everything (!!!!!). They all found a great resource and used some of those patterns. However........NONE...

The Tale of Two Quilts. :-)Larisa, you're a good woman--first being so sweet as to redirect thequilt you were making for Jenelle to another couple who obviously needslots of TLC; and secondly, for working with the newbie quilters' newbieblocks. LOL! Very nice!! Oh, I like that fabric on the one that changed it's mind. Is it new enough I might be able to purchase a yard or 3 somewhere?

Not sure, I bought it from my LQS...I can see if they have anymore next time I am there and get some for you if they do...does that work for you?? Larisa
