Workshop & Raffle

March has been a great quilting month!

I attended Jean Biddick's workshop with the local guild and had a wonderful time! I met Marcella and several other guild members - everyone was so nice! Now I need to join up - I'm very excited about that! The workshop was great - being a newbie...I got to work with paper piecing for the first time. My star came out pretty well so I was really pleased. I've never been to a quilting workshop before so I can't compare but it was really well organized, we could chose from several different projects and she explained things very well. Her quilts are absolutely Amazing - so, so inspiring...

Then I got a call from a local quilt shop and learned that I'd won a raffle I'd entered recently for the March Madness Shop Hop. It's a bag of goodies - a large, overstuffed bag - filled with fabric and patterns and books. I have pics up of the star and bag. I now have a fabric stash!! I think it's a sign from the universe - I'm on the right track with the new hobby ;-P

What wonderful luck, Steph! Very glad the workshop went well, too, as it is such a useful tool/technique. May I respectfully suggest that, while you have the instructions in your mind, you make something else with paper piecing, so that you can 'fix' it in your mind. It all sounds very exciting. The star looks lovely. Good for you. . In message , Steph writes

Piggybacking here .... Congratulations, Steph! Your star looks wonderful, and that raffle bag is amazing! You truly did have some terrific luck there. :) I'm so glad your experience with the guild was a positive one -- though how it could be otherwise with Marcella in the mix would be a mystery to me.

Howdy!

Congrats to you! The star block is beautiful, well done!

They stuffed all those goodies in that one tote bag?!? WOW! Again, good for you! Enjoy!
