any news on SCAL? also has anyone used Inkscape?

I am interested in the SCAL program but would like to take dingbat and fonts to weld together. I hear that Inkscape works well for this. Has anyone used Inkscape before?? I believe if this can be done the creations are limitless??!!! Blessings, Dorothy in NY

I have been playing with Inkscape for the past week. I downloaded some files to cut and I made a few of my own. If you know how to use the program and you have some artistic talent you can make just about anything.

I had a hard time grasping how to use the program until I found this tutorial.

I used it to make a 12 in long fence for a layout I am planning and the house shape is perfect for an album of my oldest sons new home. There are free .svg files on the web, this site has a few

You can import images and trace them to make a svg file which means the sky is the limit. The KnK, robocraft, wishblade, etc all can use svg files as well. The SCAL program itself does not have the ability to weld (the programmer is working on adding this now as he fixed the problem which made the cutting slow) but you can weld in Inkscape very easily.
