Diecut Mess!!

aaahhhh! is all I can think of at this time, besides STUPID for not checking first!!

I just got finished cutting some 200 puzzle frame diecuts to use on my Christmas cards. I thought, humm, make a bunch of them out of various colors (my favorite paper in fact - mixed non-patterned colors!) put them in a box, then pull out the pieces to make various colored frames.

Well then I thought 'wonder if the pieces interchange - NOT!

wwwaaaaa!!!

So now I have a whole box of cotton pickin pieces that I can try and match to a frame or just use pieces and leave space between them like a mosaic.

(stupid dumb futz idiot, brilliant idea my fat feet!!)

So now contemplating what to do besides pawn them off to someone and think of another GREAT idea - NOT!!

Ok, sorry I just had to rant and whine and knew some of ya'll in here have probably done something like this too after spending time on planning something - SURELY NOT!!!

pppfffbbbttt to myself and going to bed fuming over stupidity!

These moments are known as a "design opportunity". Throw out your original idea (or at least that small part of it) and play with what you've got. Maybe a larger piece underneath can serve as a unifying element?

I'm sure you'll come up with something useful Dave. :-) Hopefully some sleep helped you clear your mind of it and now you can tackle it once again.

Ahhh Dave, I'm sure you will find a way to make it work. It may not be your original idea, but it will be great. Think outside the box!!

Well first of all thanks for a few ideas.

I thought well I will sort these by the piece. After spending 4 hours and having a lot of them sorted into the only thing I could find, a plastic drawer divider, well I thought I would practice laying out one of my ideas. I got a few pieces out and then it happened - aaaaahhhhhhh!

I had puzzle pieces everywhere!! WAAAAA! I banged the edge of that stupid plastic divider, it flipped up and all that hard work is now history.

Anyone want any puzzle pieces cut into a myriad of colors?!! I am so mad right now I would even consider sending the die away - just kidding - LOL!!

So to say the least these pieces are going into a bag or something for a long time in the future endeavor and guess I will think about another card idea.

GRRRR!!!!!

AND TO BOOT, the tree sizzix die I want to use for my other card idea, well guess what, it is bad. There is a whole section of it that does not cut. So double drat and big GRRRR!!!!

Thanks for letting me vent and I know some of you have had some experience like this too, hard work sorting, placing, piecing or something, then by the fickle finger of fate - well you just are not to do that idea!!

(going to bed fuming now and wondering if I put those stupid pieces out of sight!)

Yeah! Kinda like sitting at the table working on a project using embossing powder and saying something about being warm in here only to have DS (bless his heart) flip the switch on the wall to turn on the ceiling fan........which had been set on high speed the last time it was used......... Sandy

I know you don't even want to look at the pieces now, but I have a suggestion. It sounds like you wanted to actually fit the puzzle pieces together. Why not just overlap them? Make them look the pieces do when you dump out the box, going every which way. Whatever you want to do, just thought I'd share.

I must be too tired from working a double shift but I had to laugh Dave!!! LOL this is the kind of stuff I do. and in a case like this, I would just chunk 'em and starat over. It's not like you don't have any paper! LOL (ducking and running for cover behind the bunnies, I know Dave wouldn't hurt the little bunnies)
