Do you remember the first layout you ever made?

Um, since it was only about 3 months ago, yeah! ;-)

It was a page for my DH's cousin's new baby. I had found some word charms (metallic) pretty cheap and used two packages on the page. Now I know better, LOL. I need to go back and actually redo that page. :-)

I don't think there's really anything wrong with my first LO although I've gone back and embellished them a little to match the rest of the album they're in... I decided to make a travel scrapbook and the first page I did was the front cover in red, white and blue paper with a printed title. (when I revisited it I added the ribbon and place cards and brads.) I also did a double page spread of photos from a sculpture park. The biggest mess I made was that I ruled a border with a gold pen but i didn't do it straight so I had to trim the pages down and then mount them on a contrasting paper and they ended up 'artistically slanted'! lol I also went back later and added a poem into the big yellow block.

My first LO was at an adult education class at a local high school. My Jan begged my to go.I was hesitant to go because I really didnt need another craft on my plate. The instructor of the class was a consultant fo Scrap-in a Snap. By the end of the class I was hooked.I did my LO of my new Granddaughter. When I look at it now It is very plain and blah. I haven't changed it because I too like to see how far I have come. Lin

I read these things without seeing who is writing them and was struck by one story in particular... Jessica!! What a great story! I was totally into reading it and then went back to see who it was and MY GOSH, it's by best friend Jessica. I've seen that page with the crock mouth... She ought to post it, It's very clever and cool!! As for me, (having just moved about 2 1/2 months ago) I just came across my first scrapbook. I was thirteen ( I am now 36) and it's a heritage book. I'm going to take photos of it and post it and then I'm going to transfer it -- just as it is -- out of the magnetic album and into a photo safe album. I was born to scrap. Had the talent back then. Yes I do. It was baby pictures of my daughter. Too much patterned paper and everything cut with decorative scissors. I've thought about redoing the first pages many times, but I think I'll just leave them the way they are.

My first was 2-1/2 years ago. Mariann my niece was a CM rep and sat and showed me some work on a album.So i wanted to get started, after all I had wentwith her to buy my basc supplies. she was STUNNEd on how much I thought I needed - LOL! (In fact if I had not bought 10 8x11,5 albums I would have switched to 12x !!)

Anyhow i was absolutely HORRIFIED at the idea of cutting pictures so i did. I had two similiar ones of mama and papa and cut one, but only ronded corners on the other, then felt bad and covered them with photo corners cut from a sizziz. I put them on this terrible looking patterned paper and then journaled in MY handwriting with a medium tip BLACK marker. YECH!! I had already made my mind up after seeing about a doen of Mariann's albums that i did not want WHITE background paper - double yech so I had a GREAT stash of paper started already!! Then I learned I needed to have colored cardstock for matting and cutting die - ARRGGHH!!

Anyhow I still despise that lo as well as next dozen or so too, but because of discussions in here decided to leave well enough alone.
