fastening fibers on page - how?

As you may have guessed, I am not that experienced in scrapbooking yet (although I am already quite addicted to it after just 1,5 weeks).

Right now I am working on my wedding album, as you might know. After doing some pages, I thought it would be fun to add a string of fibers all around the page. And that is exactly where I am stuck right now. I have put the page on my cutting mat, nicely "decorated" it with the fibers going all around.

But..................how on earth will I fasten this string? Do I glue it all around the page? Do I use eyelets in the corners so I can pull the sting through it, go back to the front and then off to the next corner? Do I use bradz or bradlets in the corners and then wrap the fibers around it? HELP!!!!

How do you people fasten the fiber to your pages? Maybe that will give me some ideas.

I use all of the ways you listed. I like to use eyelets and thread the fiber through them. There are also bradz that have loops on them for fastening fibers. I think a lot of it depends on the page. I also like to use ribbon charms, you can adhere the ribbon charm to the paper and the fiber runs through it and doesn't have to be fastened to the paper...kinda looks like a belt loop. Hope you get some help.

Glue dots have worked well for me.

I've scrapbooked for awhile, but gluing fibers and other odd things are still semi-new to me.

For my ATC's I used ribbon, and just used regular adheisive. For something finer/thinner the fine ladies here reccomended glue dots, which are great! And, the eyelet trick and no adhesive is the least messy.

Can't wait to see how it turns out - welcome to the group!

Thanks everybody for your responses. I have a pretty good idea now on how to fasten those fluffy fibers.

I use all of the above as well as a fiber hole-punch.

The fun thing about this group and scrapbooking is that nothing is ever wrong and figuring out a new technique is fun as long as you share with us the outcome -- good or bad.

Have fun, kate

Any of the above should work fine! It's up to you to decide what effect you want... there's no such thing as a 'best way'!

You can use a very fine line of liquid glue and lay the fiber on top of it (but that can get messy very easily)... Or you can put tiny gluedots behind the fiber if it's thick enough... Or if it's a 'flat' fiber like a ribbon you can run it through a xyron machine (note this does NOT WORK on eyelash or very fuzzy fibers because the glue messes up the fuzz)... Or you can wrap the fiber right around the sheet of cardstock and tape it on the back (what I usually do)... Or you can punch holes at each corner and thread the fiber through in a continuous strand (but it can use a LOT of fiber and be quite bulky) Or you can get a needle and thread and sew the fiber to the page (no need to sew it everywhere - taking it in three or four places on each side should be fine)... Or you can use brads as mini posts to hold the fiber down at each corner... Or you can thread the fiber in a large-eyed needle and sew it directly through the paper where you want it to go (this usually works better if you pre-drill the holes with a large needle or metal skewer or small holepunch)

I usually wrap the fiber around the page and tape it on the back. This works really well with the thinner fibers.

I usually use my Xyron to mount them Esther.
