Sorry, cannot help you here. I still use "the hammer method" (of course I do NOT set eyelets after about 9.30PM ;)).

Is this a spring loaded setter? If it is, it's similar to the Karen Foster Clickit. You just push down on the handle and the spring will pop to set the eyelet. It still makes some noise, but isn't as loud as the hammer method.

I have the provo craft silent setter. You just push down on the handle and turn slightly to punch the hole or set the eyelet and it flowers the back. I love it..

Yes, it is spring loaded. I hadn't heard of the "Silent Setter." I found some mixed reviews here:

...and while I was there, I found some reviews of the Instant Eyelet Setter!

HI.

i have the old-fashioned hammer eyelet setter as well as a fantastic silent setter.

The silent setter is a little tricky but works well and I enjoy it when I'm scrapping at the library or during "american idol" LOL.

I have it. I personally like it. I used to make a mess out of some of my eyelets, but I have messed up a one with the MMIES. Though it is not silent, I have yet to wake up family with it while using it in the middle of the night/wee hours of the morning. It does take some strength in the wrist though, you can adjust the tension so you can set an eyelet in just a few clicks or several more.

I used one in a class and found it hard to use. And that may be me because I have a bad wrist. I like the kind that has a spring in the middle. In the class we only used the hole punch and the eyelet setter. I didn't find out what the other tips are for.
