Altered Lunchbox

I've been working on altering one of the lunchboxes. They offered a class at the LSS and we decorated the outside and then made six cards to go inside. I didn't want to use mine for cards and had this idea to do one with file folders for each of my siblings. That way I could save school photos they send me of their children and now grandchildren until I had enough to make a LO. When I started I decided to include DH's siblings as well. I just posted three of the file folders to give you an idea of how I made them. It's the last five pictures in the Miscellaneous album in my webshots account. Let me know what you think.

Looks like a really cute project. I like the way you did all the files and the outside of the box looks great too. A lunch box would be a great file folder holder. Hummm.

Just love what you have done with the lunchbox Sandy :o) What a cool way to collect photos and memorabilia for future LO's. Altered art has been huge here in the UK for ages...in fact the lunchbox idea was big around Summer

2005 and scrapper's were buying up all the kids lunchboxes LOL Something else I must look into....TFS :o) Anyone have a spare lifetime or two I could borrow???? ROFL

Hi Sandy, I love the way it has turned out. Did you use regular file folders and cover them with paper? Do you mind if I scraplift your idea?? God Bless, Dorothy in NY

That is so pretty! I have two different size lunchboxes that I've wanted to work on, but haven't gotten to yet. It's nice to see one done. Maybe I'll get mind done in the next couple of months!

You can't have mine Marilyn, I'm too need a few extra!!! I will never use all the stuff I've collect for this project or that one! Between my Mom and I we could open up a great store with loads of fabric, paper, rubber stamps, ink and all the embellishments that go with! LOL I've just about run out of room for more stuff, DH said, "good, you can stop shopping." Yeah, right like that's gonna happen! LOL

You sound about as bad as me Kenda :o) In this craft attic I have 6 knitting machines, 1 sewing machine, enough coned yarn and hand knitting yarn to supply woollies for the whole of the UK + patterns, magazines etc. I have fabric that has been transported from the southern hemisphere (Oz) to the northern hemisphere, not to mention painting, croquet, tapestry, cross stitch & home furnishing materials LOL Since starting to papercraft, I have accrued such a lot of stash...so a couple of extra lifetimes would come in handy about now..... ROFL Three score years & ten just ain't gonna be enough!!!!!

Had to laugh at your DH's comment that you can give up shopping now you have nowhere to put extra stuff :o) Men just don't get it...do they??? My DH has just gone to town to get his woodworking magazine! He just shook his head when I asked him to pick me up a scrapbooking or papercraft mag while he is there LOL He will probably bring back several...saying he didn't know which one to get me....hahahaha He is such an enabler as he also keeps an eye out for anything that I can use, alter, etc. So he is just as much to blame for the amount of stuff I have gathered over the years.

When I take a craft shopping trip he usually comments that I could open my own craft store with everything I have but it doesn't stop him dragging me here and there to show me stuff he thought I might like :o) Weekend before last....he bought me two fabulous scrapbooking and papercraft books and another on digital photography, while we were out shopping! We went in the bookshop so he could by himself a pocket-sized organiser.....I wasn't looking for anything crafty! Now it would have been really hurtful of me not to accept them graciously once he had pointed them out....wouldn't it? LOL Some of the techniques in the papercraft/origami book are just exquisite!!

Thanks, I did/do. I made another file folder this evening. Had my siblings done and then decided to do DH's. So I added more. I think there are still three to complete. Sandy

Thanks, Kenda. I saw one used as a wedding planner and onlther one for handmade cards. They just did dividers for that one and decorated them based on the cards (birthday, thank you, get well, etc.) Sandy
