Whose making X-mas Presents

Is anyone making their own christmas presents this year. If so what are you making. I am going to buy a few gifts but here's my plan. For my dad I am making him a 8x8 album of his 50th birthday party (I started it today and I'm almost done). For my sister she is a HUGE NY Yankee fan so I am going to try my hand at making her a frame. I got a wooden frame at Michaels. I'm going to paint it white and put blue lines down it (like the Yankee pinstrip uniforms). I also got a wooden #2 I'm going to paint blue (favorite player is Derek Jeter). I wish I could find the Jolee's Yankee embellishments but I'll figure something out to decorate it with. For my mom I'm going to get a jar decorate it and inside on little strips of paper write why we love her so much (kind of like a Why I'm thankful jar that you do at thanksgiving). And then lastly I have some cute paper piecing patterns I'm going to make and turn them into magnets. Thats it! So what are you doing?

I'm making journaling jars (family theme) for all of my siblings (I'm 2nd oldest of 9) and decorated journals to go with them. For my parents I'm making 8x8 albums of the grandchildren and great-grandchildren. I had planned on doing one for my Mom's birthday in July, but didn't get past gathering the supplies. I have to make 2 as my parents have been divorced since I was 10. Sandy

I almost always make my Christmas gifts for friends & family. I think this year it will probably be jewelry. Last year I made packages of Christmas cards & the year before I knitted shawls for everybody. I always do a basket of homemade mixes, jams, etc for my Mom & Step Dad, but this year, I'll be putting something extra in them. I came across 2 really great sets of CD's one was 100 old show tunes & the other was 100 old Country & Western tunes. I also cheated & picked up a really pretty butterfly key chain for my Mom.

I usually knit the boys each a sweater as well, but I don't think I'll be doing that this year.Starting this full time job has really cut into my crafting time!(LOL)

Wellllll.....I was going to make 2 sisters 6 x 6 albums for my sis and SIL. But I ran into a slight problem with what to do. LOL I really don't want it to be a book of sister quotes, that's just not the 3 of us. I thought about doing things like "where we've been together", what we like to do together, etc. Except that most of the time I am out there, SIL isn't able to go with my sister & I (and whomever else goes). So I'm putting those albums on the burner for next year. But I have some really nice paper for it though! LOL

Other than that, I haven't thought of Christmas presents. I had better get on the ball!

Last year I made the fleece knot blankets. I probably made about 6 of them. This year I'm going to try and make the altered paint cans. Right now I plan on making 4. 1 for the 2 teachers and the other 2 for a good friend and my sister who scrapbooks. The fun thing will be deciding what to put in them.

Actually - I am taking inspiration from RJ's clipboard swap - it seems like a great, inexpensive, practicle and customizable gift!

And this year, with $$$ being so tight, I need something like that. :)
