I need some help with a name

Earlier tonight I was making myself a business card, and couldn't for the life of me come up with a name for my "business". How did you guys who have your own businesses come up with names? I am an all around crafter...not just beads. I can sew, paint, decorate, etc, so I would want a name that isn't specifically related to any one craft.

I forgot to mention that at one point my husband had reminded me that I am always looking for something I can do here at home to make a bit of extra money, and he said I could use our webspace at Adelphia for an online craft store of sorts and said I should call it Auntie M's Crafts or something of that nature...I am not sure I like the name still but it could work.

Again, any suggestions on how to come up with a name would be greatly appreciated.

What about something like Crafts By Marissa, or Marissa's Handwork? Not terribly clever, but very straightforward and would allow you to sell/display any kind of handmade craftwork.

Either of those would work too. I just seem to be really bad with names...I can't even think of a good name myself...I will think on it somemore and maybe come up with something I like.

Warrior Queen Craft Goddess Marissa! Marissa of Craftopia! Not just beads by Marissa dammit! Cheesewheels, crafts and other cool stuff by Marissa!

LOL sorry.... OK for my studio (Fields-Art Studios) I used my name to personalize it, but kept it open in case I added my jewelry to the photography. On those lines you could be Marissa Art. etc.... I still like "Not just beads by Marissa dammit!" though. D

Nice names, but not quite what I was looking for, but I did get a laugh outta them, so thank you for that! Thank you for your suggestion. I will keep it in mind.

Why not Designs by Marissa, this way you have room for growth. Whatever name you use needs to have room to grow. If you limit yourself to naming it after one craft then decide to make other things your name will not represent what you do. What street do you live on?

I know someone who lives on River Road, and her company is River Road Designs.

I like "Marissa's Artistry." I think you're an artist, not just a craftsperson. I'd say that you're a Renaissance woman with all your different skills, but people would probably think that you do all that Ren-fest stuff and nothing else.

How about Marissa's Coffer? Your logo could be a little trunk overflowing with goodies..and it's a small play on words with your last name.

Mine just sort of came to me.

I use Dragonfly Arts I used arts so it would cover jewelry, beads, silver, photography, and maybe cards.

My current card has "hand-crafted Jewelry by Kathy King" on it so my name is there also. I figure as I start selling other stuff I can make modifications as needed

Hmm- don't think that was much help.

Thank you all for your suggestions. I have decided to go with Barbara's suggestion, Marissa's Coffer. Now all I need is a cool little graphic of a chest overflowing with goodies. I found a cool looking little chest at in microsofts clip art gallery online, but it has NOTHING in it! I am not sure if I could make it my own and edit it or not. I think I will try it and see what happens.

Actually I change my mind, but my name still stems from Barbara's suggestion. Marissa's Art Basket or Craft Basket (not sure which yet). And my logo could be a basket with thread, fabric, beads, etc in it.
