I think a lot of this mood has to do with the holidays. Christmas is my least favorite time of the year, due to clashing expectations and memories of very unpleasant Christmases when I was a child. (Dad, probably fighting demons of his own, used to get hammered and violent during most of December) When DD was born, we had years of conflict between all the grandparents, each of whom wanted the only grandchild on Christmas and Christmas Eve, and were not willing to come to our house.

My way of dealing with it is to ignore the stores and the hype, do all my shopping in the summertime, and spend the advent season as "work time." I've been making bracelets like a mad woman for the past three nights, and will be delivering them to the phone ladies in my cardiologist's office tomorrow. I have a small stash of bracelets started for all the teachers and female staff at DD's school. (Men get Dunkin Donuts gift certificates)

For me, giving a little something to people who are normally forgotten or are treated less than wonderfully by the general public makes me feel better. The rest of it -- the whole commercial part; I wish I could just chuck that right out there. I love to give, but hate occasions where obscene displays of greed are expected.

I've come to expect lethargy and a little squabbling at this time of year in my online communities. On one group in which I participate, we have an annual argument over whether the public celebration of Christmas is disrespectful to non-Christians, and if so, should it be banned? Then the Christians say that why should they have to forego their celebration for a vocal minority. It's been over ten years with the same cast of characters, and it still pops its ugly little head each year.

So Kathy, it's not you. It's not anyone right now. It's just the way it is, and will soon pass.

that must happen in MOST groups. the only other two i look at it seems to happen in, too. and since i usually try to stay out of them, i don't think it's me.

I don't know what it was that didn't get responded to Kathy, but I am here and trying to be here more. I am also swamped with some marketing efforts in my own remaining job, trying to help the doc build some new business. Over Thanksgiving, I actually made some bracelets (more jewelry than I made all year). That about sums up my entire life. LOL

No, I'm just as talkative as ever. But when I travel, I never seem to be able to reliably use my computer, and no longer even try to keep up while on the road.

I have to admit, I do need to limit how much time I spend at the computer. And like everyone else, I get times when I get miffed, feel ignored, am embarrassed by how I say things, etc, etc, but this is still my home, my workplace, my support group.

Glad to be home, and to see more posts from you. I had been missing you when you were so quiet.
