Name Frame ?

I am thinking of making my sister a Name Frame for either Valentines Day or Easter. I have a few questions for those who made these before. What is the normal size of a name frame and where could I find a nice frame to fit it? Lastly how do you put the paper together with out seeing the crease of the paper where it meets. For example the frame say takes 2 pieces of 12x12 paper, how would you line them up without seeing the line where the meet and without embellishing over the entire line. Thanks for the help.

I've never heard of this. Are there any examples online?

Here is a link with lots of examples. I love these frames. Just not sure how to make them look right. I may play this weekend.

Why can't you do it with a single 12x12 sheet? Or maybe use a roll of wrapping paper for the background?

Oh! Ok, before I saw the pics, I was thinking like, you carved a picture frame to be shaped like someone's name, lol. From what it looks like, the frames seem to be different sizes, and when they're bigger than the paper then people are just doing some sort of collage effect. Like that "Hudson" one on the page you linked, you can see they just did four different blocks of paper, the three patterns and the train print. So I guess if you have to piece papers, you just make it look like an intentional part of your design.

Several of the frames I looked at looked as if they had solid color background with a stamped design or made with pieced papers of different colors. I buy large sheets of paper at Hobby Lobby that I use for some of the folding mini albums I make so I don't have to piece together paper. They have several different colors of paper in the art department in poster sizes. Sandy

Thanks for all the suggestions everyone! I will let you know what I come up with. I think this may be an Easter project.
