I have several questions

I need help with a few things, if you don't mind.

  1. I have a scrapbook album (12x12) that has two screw type things that you have to remove everytime you want to add a page. Its a pain and I know it would be easier to leave blank pageproctors and just slide the LO in it. But I don't like the album. And I don't like the wire ones that come with the plain white paper (kind of like a sketch pad), which seems to be all I can find.

  1. I'm looking into getting the embossing folders for the sizzix machine. Does anyone have the embossing folders and if how does it work, is a good investment? And in order to use it in my sizzix machine I would need the converter, right? Also what else is the converter used for? Also the sizzlets, are they meant just for the sidekick or for both the sizzix and sidekick?

  2. Lastly, I have adorable 8x10 scrapbook papepr of a bear in the corner sleeping and the oultine of the page is a big cloud. I have a cute picture of my son (my favorite picture) of him sleeping that would go great on that page. The problem is the album and LO's of him I already have (5 pages total) are all 12x12. I want to use this paper. How can I use it without throwing the album off. All of his pages with the exception of that one will be 12x12.

I appreciate all of your help. And I promise that will be the last of my questions for awhile.

#1) Have you considered 3 ring binders they come in 12x12 #2) sorry don't have so can't help #3) You could cut out the bear with an exacto knife and draw your own cloud on 12x12, or you could mat that piece of paper on a 12x12piece, just kind of tip it so it's on on angle and put a solid complimentary color under it on a slighly differant color. If the corners go off the 12x12 page just trim the points off after you secure the paper down. Hope this makes sence! Barb:o)

1) I agree w/ Barb, try a 3-ring binder. 2) Don't have, don't know. 3) You could slice the page and spread it out. Just cut it into even strips and spread it evenly across a piece of complimentary cs. If it's 11" then you could just leave a half" at the top and bottom. Katrina in KS

I can't offer suggestions on # 1 & #3 but I can help with #2

I have a few of the embossing folders for the sizzix. I like mine, the only thing I don't like is that you can't center teh embossed area on a card. Well you could, I just make cards that are a little bigger than teh folders. However I do emboss on cardstock then cut out and add to the front of the card I'm working on, or the scrapbook LO.

Yes, you will need the converter in order to use the embossing folders, you can use the sizzlets with your sizzix, but you need the converter in order to use them.

Thank you for your help. I will have to look into the 3 ring binders. You all are so helpful, thank you.

  1. Just like strap hinge albums, you add to them by undoing the straps at both front and back and expand the binding. It is a pain too. How I get around it and the same would work for a post bound one too, is get the page protectors that go in the album on the posts or straps, with the opening of them either at the top or outside edge. NOT THE SLIDE ON ones. Then your LO's, either just slide them in after doing them or put a piece of cs in the protector and slide the LO in on either side. If you do not glue them in you can remove them to add or change or to reaarange their order later.

  1. I have a couple and they work great. I think there is tips on the website on how or what to use to even use regular templates in the Sizzix. The embossing folders do not fit in the sidekick. The sidekick has its own. I TRIED!!! How I emboss on my Sizzix is, use two or three pads, and a piece of a mousepad. Put the mousepad down, then the template and your paper. You can change that order, hen on top I found a piece of thin cardboard or heavy cardstock. Just pull the handle down till there is LIGHT pressure. If you pull too hard the whole template outline will show. Anyhow expierment first with the order of the 'ingredients' and the pressure and thickness of everything.

  2. Take the paper and put it on a coordinating or even contrasting color of your liking to give it a border. As the others also suggested, cut it in strips and lay on background, or turn it at an angle. That works great and gives you places to add journaling or embellishmemts.

Hope this all makes sense, otherwise DO NOT HESITATE and ask any of us here questions. WE DO NOT MIND, as that is why we are here (besides enabling as much as possible too!)

nada for 05 (unless adding to or changing pages counts!)
