Your Input Please

Hi,

My name is Jim Collins and I own a photo restoration business, Touching Memories and believe that their is most likely a market for my services in the scrapbooking community. I'm not trying to sell anything at this time, but would gratefully appreciate any input you can give me on the questions below. Feel free to email me your replies if you prefer to snipped-for-privacy@touchingmemories.com

  1. Is it acceptable to advertise services in this news group?

  1. Would you mail or email old family pictures for restoration to a professional restorer

  2. Would you email snap shots (4x6 or smaller, 3mp digital images) that needed touchup work such as color correction, exposure correction, resizing or cropping? What is your idea of a fair price for such work?

  1. Would you ever be in the market for custom printing (12x12) scrapbook pages either backgrounds or photos? What is your idea of a fair price for such work

  2. Do you have digital photographs that you would like to have enhanced?

  1. How important is printing with archival quality paper and inks to you?

  2. What would you say a fair price for a top of the line custom scrapbook, bound, acid free pages, Title imprinted on the cover, 12x12 pages separated by vellum, 50 or 40 page versions (2 sides to each page) either leather or simulated cover be. Would you ever use such a scrapbook? (family archive, weddings, etc.)

Thank you very much for your time and input,

Jim

It is preferable if you are a participating member of this group. Services must be scrapbook related. Posts of this nature must be tagged with AD before the rest of the subject line.

Not sure. Especially if you don't have a negative.

No, because I like to do my own work. There is a market for those who do want scrapbooks made though.

What is your idea of a fair price for

I can't even imagine. It's hard to put a price on it.

So many at-home programs have enhancing features now. If I used digital pictures in my albums (which I don't) I would just use an at-home program.

Again, can't put a price on it. HTH

I thinks so.

If I could not figure out how to do it myself with one of the programs out there and It was very importan for me to get it restored , I would.

Yes, I don't know what I would pay. I guess it would depend on the picture.

I would if I made digital scrapbook pages. I'm not sure what it costs since I have never done it.

Not right now I don't.

Very Important.

If you are doing the scrapbooking $150 if its just the leather album $70. I probably would not use one because I like to make my own. I'm sure there are people out there who do not care for scrapbooking but would love to have a custom album made. Especially for a Wedding or Anniversary.

I would not mind seeing someone that does restoration at a Scrapbooking workshop. Its fun to see what can be done with the photos. A person at my last workshop showed off some of her work and I would give my pictures to fix. I'm not sure what the cost would be though.

That's what I use Kodak Picture Maker for.

I would do that myself
