Altered Lunchbox

I was amazed at actually how easy it was. I say Sandy's and I think it was Shannon who had altered beautiful tins. I kept looking at my mine and shaking my head at even starting. I was looking at it as all these round curves and corners. I found it it all basically rectangles. I corner rounded the top rectangle. Once I got going it wasn't hard to cover at all.

I haven't really done any work with Modge Podge and had a few issues. I used it to glue the paper down. Then I went over the top to create a shield for the paper. But the paper would start to bubble in a few places. I got to thinking maybe I should have coated it after a day of drying. I didn't wait for the first undercoat to dry and adhere the paper. Also the paper I used was quite thick. Maybe I should have used thinner paper.

Modge Podgers what do you think?

Look in my CCC2008 album as I made it to hold my cards.

I think it looks great. I can't see wrinkles and bubbled areas. Love the ribbon you put around it I always wait for one coat to be completely dry before starting the second one over the paper. I know it's hard to wait........I run into that when I'm doing a clipboard.

Your tin is beautiful Lynne. I think it turned out great and I couldn't see any bubbles or wrinkles either. I have never altered a tin but they have so many options I may have to try once I move so I will have cute storage.

I love it Lynne! I don't see any bubbles or wrinkles, though. I'm glad you decided to alter it. Once you get started with one, it doesn't take long before you realize you're done. I've used the red sticky strip adhesive stuff to adhere my paper when I do an altered tin. I've never covered one with Modge Podge, though. Probably a good idea though! Now that you mention it, when I get bubbles or wrinkles when I use Modge Podge, I haven't let the first coat dry either. I'll try real hard to let each coat dry now!

I always have wrinkles and bubbles too. I would love to know how to do it without. I'm like you. I do it all at once. Thinner paper doesn't matter. It probably wrinkles and bubbles more.
