altered composition books

Has anyone done one of these? I've looked up some tutorials and there are some that use Modge Podge to glue the paper to the covers and there are some that use the red tape to stick the paper down. I'm not sure which to use. I want it to be fairly sturdy. Does anyone have any experience with one way or the other?

Thanks, Lori

I've made a couple and just really glued the different papers with my glue stick. They hold up well one is for recipes one is a gratitude journal, the other is a honey do list. Barb:o)

I have used both Lori. The Modge Podge definitely holds very well but I haven't had any problems with the red tape either. I guess it really depends on how much use and handling you expect the book to get. If it is going to be handled a lot or handled by kids, then I would go with HP. Otherwise, the tape would probably work.

I used duck brand adhesive on mine. Modge podge can be used. What ever you have had the experience with that holds the best. You can either cut the paper at the edge or fold it over at the edges. There are very many different ways to do it. Try differt ways till you are happy with it. I have several books in my webshots albums under swaps

I've made one, and I used Modge Podge. I'm not sure if I did it wrong or what, but the cover wound up kind of warped and the paper wrinkled some. I would suggest going with the red sticky tape. I've used it with various other projects and once it's down, it's not coming up without tearing something, so your composition book should last quite a long time with it.
