National Scrapbook Day at LSS

When I closed the county museum this afternoon my DS and grandson and I drove to Jasper to the LSS to see if they had any specials for today (plus I had to make a stop at Staples for supplies). I got in just in time for two make-n-takes. One was a 1 page LO and the other was a take-out box decorated with scallops. But the best part was I got there in time to get my name in for the hourly door prize and the end of the day drawing. I won a package of decorated brads, a mini album and some cardstock. Then as I paid and was leaving they had me throw beanbags to win another prize. I let the boys each throw a beanbag for me and I won an autographed copy of 'Real.Life.Scrapbooking' by Rebecca Cooper. My big purchase of the day was a copy of 'sketches for creative layouts' by Becky Fleck. I've been so good about not buying supplies for the last two months because of DH being out of work, this was my only splurge...... I think the day was well worth the trip.

Now I'm going to crawl in bed with my new books, a package of post-its and a bottle of water...........

Wow, sounds like you had a great National Scrapbook Day. I have not seen the Sketches for Creative Layouts book. If you have a chance, would you post and let us know how you like it??

I went by Archivers on my way home from a baby shower. I ended up get a couple of good deals. I didn't have time for the make-n-takes though. I am hoping today I get to scrapbook after I get a few things done around the house.

My DH and I spent Thurs night (May 1) in Indy celebrating our Anni. Friday morning after breakfast we stopped by Archivers, after about 5 min in the store DH walked over the mall hahaha, and I got to make 4 make n takes. That was fun and I got some ideas. It turned out to be a pretty good day. Stopped at a Super Jo Anns, not sure that's the real name but it was a nice one, and got several good buys, a lot of stuff for 40% off. It was nice.

Indy has the closest Archivers to me and it's three hours away. I saw their circular with the make-n-takes in it. They looked like fun projects. I'd love to get back up there to Ally Scraps. That was a good store. Our scrap group takes a bus trip somewhere every year and we went to four scrapbook stores in Indy last summer. This year I'm hoping they decide to go to St. Louis. I saw three stores I really want to get to. I'm really debating on a weekend trip there this summer with the kids just so I can go to the stores. Sandy

It sounds like you had a wonderful day Sandy. Enjoy Beck Fleck's book. She also has a website pagemaps.com. She has some really great sketches. I use them quite often for my pages.
