Hello--introducing myself

Hello everyone. I hope I am doing this the right way...I looked on the about the group page and didn't see a "read this first" post or anything...

My name is Linda. I'm 29 YO and live in Virginia (Near the DC area). I'm actually not into scrapbooking but love making cards, and since a lot of the same techniques are used, I thought I'd see if anyone minds if I join your group. (I promise that I'm not a scrap flamer or anything. lol).

I've been making cards for several months using pre-designed blanks, but only recently (month or so) got into making cards from cardstock rather than premade blanks. I love finding new designs that work on cards, and am looking forward to getting to know everyone here.

Thanks, Linda

Linda,

I am also in Virginia, but a little farther from DC (Charlottesville) and I make cards. I also started reading this newsgroup because card-making techniques and tools match up with scrapbooking. Not only are these folks a great group, but I've been inspired to make two scrapbooks of my own so far.

Be prepared for some serious "enabling".

First, welcome to Linda! You will find a lot of card makers here so I think you will find this group enjoyable. Hope to see some of your work.

Gina, I hadn't realized you were in Charlottesville. I'm so excited because my company has an office in Charlottesville. I have been there a few times for work -- it is a beautiful city. If a project gets funded in 2007, I may be making several trips to your area! We might be able to have an RCS meet!!!

Welcome, Linda! Tho I'm on the other coast now, I grew up in the NoVa area (Springfield, to be exact) & then lived in Alexandria (outside the beltway) for several years. Usually I get back there for the holidays, but dad's coming this direction this year.

Welcome to RCS Linda! Several of us make cards, along with scrapping. Lately, I've been doing more cards than scrapping myself. Trying to get Christmas cards done. (No one ask how many I have done....please? LOL) We love to share new techniques, ideas, etc here so you'll be at home, I hope. Just watch out for the enablers! LOL
