I do use rubber stamps in my scrapbooking and on my cards, but not magazine pictures, at least for scrapbooking, because I think they are pretty high in acid and can hurt my pictures. :) I wish I could afford that archival mist spray! LOL. Your projects sound SO cute! I hope you have the ability to share them with us when you're done! I see you have webtv, though, so maybe you don't. Ah, well, we're glad to have you in the group!

BTW Caitlin, I believe Krylon makes some type of archival spray, called: Make It Acid-Free. It runs $9.99 at our scrapbook store. I've also seen it at Michaels and Hobby Lobby. I found it with (of all places) the spray paints. HTH

Welcome Jan, it's nice to have you join us. Your projects sound varied and lots of fun and perhaps sometime you can share so we can see. However, you are so good at describing what you are doing that we will at least see them through your words.

I do use rubber stamps, but not magazine pictures for the same reason as Caitlin, the acidity of the pages.

thanks for the big welcome!!! i can put my projects on a webpage on webtv and then you can see them. i am waiting to hear if my daughter has hooked up the scanner i gave her or not. if she has then i can scan the things i have done and then you can see them. i know the magazine pages are not acid free and i do use them more on the cards i make then anything. i will cut out designs from greeting cards and use those on my scrapbook pages. don't know if they are acid free, but i think they will hold up ok. guess i will find out over time. yep, i have this creative mind and it is always running. seems i have a *need* not just a desire to create. it really makes me happy. :) below is a craft project i got from a lady in my gardening group as i am an avid gardner too, plus i work. these halloween critters are made out of patio blocks you get at a home improvement store. then she painted them with arcylic paints. looks pretty easy to do. very cute also. jan :)

Welcome Jan! I do sometimes use rubber stamping in my layouts but do not use magazine photos. I have kept clippings but I put them in a separate page so they are not touching any of my photos. I do rubber stamp cards.

my name is jan and i have been lurking in here for a while and decided to post a few things today. do you use rubber stamps and magazine pictures when you scrapbook? i do, i also use thin material and other things to add texture and make it more interesting. i make my own greeting cards as well. sure is fun!!! i have several projects in the works right now. need to go get some stickers to add to a couple of things. one of my projects is a framed picture i am doing for my friends that just got back from vacation. they went to MN for a class reunion. i had a map of MN and i made sure the town they went to showed up on the page by putting a paper luggage tag over it that i cut out the center of so the town shows. i also cut out a picture of a car and cut out a picture i took of them and placed them in the car. added conversation bubbles, wish you were here and i am trying to have a good time!!! LOL also put vacation 2004 across the top. still looking for anything else i can add to it like luggage stickers or something. it is really turning out cute. also making a card for my son that loves to golf and my cousin that loves to fish. using magazine pics for those and stickers. anyway, just thought i would drop in. been busy crafting and watching the olympics. hope your saturday is going well. jan in oregon :)
