Well, one of our swap participants has had to drop out due to personal issues at this time, so I thought I'd post and see if anyone with free time right now would be interested in stepping in as an angel to cover her spot. If not, I'll be glad to do it, but I thought I'd offer it up first to see if anyone not already in the swap wanted to jump in at the last minute... Since I haven't done my own squares yet, I'll offer the choice of either my own decade or the decade that needs the angel, so you can pick your favorite. I'll leave this open until Friday at noon CST or until someone grabs it, whichever comes first, and then will move on from there. This IS short notice, so you've got to be prepared to move on these quickly...but if you're interested, please let me know. The two decades you can chose from are:

Ok ladies (and gents!), this is the "official" post to request participants in the Heritage Square Swap which will begin after signups conclude, on Sunday, May 8th at 12noon CST and will be due into me by August 15th. Here are the specifics:
This is an embellishment square swap You'll make a 4x4" "square" (doesn't have to be exactly square but roughly 4"x4" in size) that is decorated with items from a particular decade. This "square" is then used as an embellishment on your heritage or other period scrapbook pages. It does not need to allow room for a photograph as it is meant as a page embellishment only and not a photo frame. Each person signs up for a decade, researches it, and then includes items from that decade on their square. They can be anything of interest from that decade. Grocery prices, news items, pop culture, whatever you think would be interesting, but please remember that we may have swap participants from many countries, so try to keep things global in focus. Items used for your square must be acid/lignin free. You will do 10 identical squares for your decade and then send them to me and I'll swap them out and you'll receive back a set of 10, 1 for each of the 10 decades in the swap.
The only requirement to join will be that you must have been a posting member of RCS for one month. After completing your squares, you'll package and mail them to me to be received by August 15th (which gives you almost 3 months to complete them!) and I will swap them out and return them to you (allowing for a few unforseen mailing delays) by September 1st.
