12x12 picture frames

Has anyone seen these?

I was in Michael's looking for a frame for a wedding picture and saw these. I thought I might frame my pages instead of buying so many albums. I have so many empty walls in my townhouse, I thought I might use them as art, since they are art to me? What do you guys think, would this be tacky?

I have done these for gifts - I did a page of my DD for my MIL last year and in the centre I placed a poem about Grandmas and how they are always at the end of the phone etc (my MIL lives in the UK and we are in Canada) She LOVED it!! It made her cry and she hung it in her bedroom so it is the first thing she sees and the last thing she sees each day!

As much as I love scrapbooking, I am not fond of having family pictures up everywhere so I have not done many for my own walls - I did one for DH for his office though and the children have one each in their bedrooms!

Go for it - it's a great idea :)

Oh and if you are worried about pictures fading etc or your pictures being protected as they would be in albums - you can get Michaels to cut you a sheet of glass to fit your frame from the special glass to protect pictures - I think it reflects the light back or something so the pictures don't fade etc. Not sure what the glass is called though but they will know ;)

No, I don't think this would be tacky at all. Although, I don't know how many layouts you would end up framing as they can be expensive. I framed a layout of my girls for Mother's Day and gave it to my mom as a gift. She loved it. This one was really nice and had tons of room for 3D embellishments between the backing and the glass.

my oldest dd is always raiding my supplies to do "frames". she says she's not into that scrapbooking "crap", but that's exactly what she's doin'. she does a wonderful job and has given several away as gifts. little does she know of the world she's being sucked into.

Kathie, My sil admired my recipe pages I did for one of our swaps and I gave one to her plus made another. She framed them and hung them in her kitchen ! I really like the way they look. Sounds like a great idea and a unique art work.

Sabrina, What a great way to decorate...I just might have to use this in my new kitchen once I get rid of all the boxes...since most are done on 8X11 frames will be easy to find and easy to change out... Thanks, Faye (back in FL again)
