Odd Layout

Have any of you ever done a layout that was so NOT YOU that you wondered where it came from? That' happened to me today working on my hubby's Father's Day card. I enjoy art of all kinds, but I have never done a real sort of modern art layout before. Here's the card:

I'm sorry I haven;t been here much lately. I've been doing a scrapbook as a present for a friend of mine who is awaiting a kidney transplant. Its rather large (well 8x8, which I realize I hate), or rather long. Here are a few of the pages.

I made the paper for this page out of scraps.

The cd on this page contains a little movie I made of the beach. She LOVES the ocean and I thought having a bit of it with her to play when she feels down would be nice. I put it in a memorabilia envelope just to be sure.

There are too many pages to post here. Friends sent pages they made or pictures and messages that I used in the book, but I better not post those without permission. And lastly, here's another page in my actor scrapbook.

The sad part is that I've done all these and am still so incredibly behind as you wouldn't believe! LOL Hugs, Rach

Rach -

Nice layouts. I really like the picture on the inside of the Father's day card - did you draw that?

I am sure your friend will love her album - what a great gift.

As far as layouts being different form my normal style - well, I guess I don't have a set style - I never know what I will come up with! :)

Thanks for sharing!

I think the card looks great. I know you said it's not your norm, but you did a great job.

Wow Rach they are all so good. Love the CD of the beach idea. What a thoughtful album.

The Father's day card is wonderful my husband would love to have a card like that. Last year when I asked my husband what he wanted for Father's day he said, "A hot sudsy shower..." and he winked at me. I said, "OK, but with the kids getting older I'm not sure they'd agree." Then I got the appalled looked from him and the explanation that it was with me not them. I couldn't stop laughing. Then he realized I knew all along what he meant and that got me into some tickling trouble.

I love the card. It looks very Hallmarky to me. And the titles are great! I'm sure he'll love it.

I love all the pages and the card. It is a wonderful thing you are doing for your friend. I really like how you layed everything out in the baseball layout!

No, the "a" is there, it just doesn't show up well. I didn;t type it in, thank goodness. I selected it in my Print Shop program which printed it automatically so there was no room for my errors, which are legion! LOL. I usually print the cards first and then do the decoration.
