Christmas Ideas

Three years ago I gave my MIL a 12x12 Christmas album and my BIL and SIL

Since then, every year as one of their presents, they each get a 2 page LO to add to their album of the precious Christmas. It's one of those Christmas presents that you can make a head of time, though I never seem to, LOL!

What a great idea. I could start doing that to each of my adult children for our family Christmas's together. then they could add their own family Christmas to the album if they want. Now that I have two of the three scrapping. Still working on the last DD - I bought her the TLC LifeTimez program to see if I could get her into digital scrapping. Sandy

For Christmas last year I made a 12x12 LO of our son Dylan who passed away for both sets of Grandparents. They loved it. Then for my sisters 5th grade moving up ceremony I made her a 12x12 LO that she loved. The LO had a staircase with 6 stairs going up for each grade (K-5) on each stair I made a sizzix doll and shrunk it down for each grade (so K was small first grade was a little bigger doll etc) and took her school pictures from each grade and used that for the dolls face. And Titled the LO a sucessful completion of elementary school. Next time I go over there I have to take a picture of the LO, I forgot to before I gave it to her.

Sounds like a good idea. I made a framed 2 page 12 x 12 LO for my mom & MIL a couple years ago for Mother's Day. They really liked them. It was less stressful than a full album, but still just as fun.

That sounds like a really neat idea to do. A few years ago I made a Father's Day lo for my dad and my fil. They both loved them. I put them in a frame and both are displayed at their homes. I also made an album for my mom and mil for Christmas one year. I need to add some pages to both albums now, since the family has grown. Each one had pics of them as kids, then weddings, and the growth of us kids. Turned out great. Can't wait to see what you do..

I never thought to do something like that, but it sounds like a really good idea. Go for it. I am sure your family will be greatful for the sentiment.

I too have an idea, I shared it with Christina, but I want to see what you all think.

I was thinking about doing an ABC scrapbook, but the theme of it would be using my concordance, take some words for each letter and then follow it with scriptures using that word. I have the word list completed and scriptures (finished it yesterday) but I am batteling LO Ideas... (side border with the letter in the top corner, or use a colored background paper... etc.. that kind of thing.. I am rather limited on my supplies right now), but of course, I am going to take time to do it and maybe do a few pages with what I have and do more as I can afford to buy a few items here and there.

I think this sounds like a great idea. The one caution I would give is to consider their space available. My MIL lives in a small apartment with cinder block walls for the outside thus limiting the area she can hang things, she would much rather have a book for the LO's that she could put on her coffe table. As a result I am making a 6x6 book for her for Christmas. My parents have a townhouse style condo and while they have more wall space they also have 11 grandchildren and lots of artwork. For My Mom I would make some 12x12 Lo's for her to add to one of her books (though this year she will probably get photos and supplies to do her own LO since she is also a scrapbooker. I have lots of wall space at my place and do not yet have an extensive art collection so I would frame and put up a special LO. I would also enjoy recieving one as a gift. The wonderful thing about this hobby is there are so many variations of what you can do and so many options for gifts.

Thanks everyone for your comments. I do like the Christmas album idea, but right now I just don't have the time to start on another Big project. I want something that I can put together in a couple of days and it not cost a lot. I think my family members will like the gifts. It is great to know that some of ya'll have done something like this and the person(s) getting them liked them.
