ziploc baggies or what??

Question

What do ya'll use as baggies when shipping out layouts in both the 8

1/2 x 11 and the 12x12 sizes? I tried the gallon-sized ziplocs for the smaller layouts but they don't fit. Or do yo u just use mailing envelopes? So the question is: What do you use and where do you get them? thanks

HI.

I use the plastic wrap that seals around itself -- I can't think of the name of it since we are currently out and can't look at the box.

OOH I remember, Glad press and seal.

Then I use corregated left overs to make a box then seal it all together.

Seems to work ok.

I've never ordered from them (so no idea where they got my name from), but I've received a couple of catalogs from a company called ULINE

They have recloseable bags as big as 20"x24". The bad news is that they only have cartons of 1000 bags (about $113 for

13"x15"). If you can't find them elsewhere, perhaps you could talk your local LSS into ordering a carton & selling them in smaller quantities.

Melissa....I haven't mailed LO's out but like Sabrina I use pizza boxes to put paper and LO's in until I put them in an album. Many UK online suppliers use pizza boxes and tissue paper to send stuff so it doesn't get dog-eared. I just got DH to ask the Indian Takeaway to sell him some and they gave him half a dozen free of charge....LOL He got them flatpack, so I made them up with the logo and writing on the inside....plain brown boxes to suit short term storage ...ROFL Use 12 inch boxes for no wiggle room or 15 inch if you want to store in a page protector :o) I find stuff still gets squished in a

12 x 12 ziploc bag...it is just a little to tight for comfort.

I found 2.5 gal bags at Target - it's the only place I can find them. I've  never mailed a LO before, but they work great to make the kits for power  LO's to take to crops.  sells the same bags the scrapbook companies use to pack their  kits and pages in. They're called crystal clear bags and they have the  adhesive strip. 8 11/16 x 11 15/16 + flap, Crystal Clear (221x303) 100 for $12 12 1/4 x 12 1/4 + flap, Crystal Clear (311x311) 100 for $17 They also sell crystal clear films in every color of the raimbow for  scrapbooking - just think 12x12 colored transparancy!!!  A pack of assorted  colors is $7. I'm getting an order ready now to split with a friend. Sandy

I also haven't mailed LOs before but I use pizza boxes for my own LOs and  paper. Most pizza shops where I live will give a few free of charge. Good  luck finding something that works for you! Melissa

I use a Priority Mail Box from the U.S.P.O. for mailing 12x12 sizes and for  8 1/2 x 11 I use a larger cardboard mailing envelope from the U.S.P.O. (or  even a larger manilla envelope from Target and I put extra cardboard in it)  and put the layouts in 3-ring binder sheet protectors and sandwich them  between pieces of cardboard.

I just pop mine in a 9 x 12 manilla envelope.  No baggie.
