Here are the details: ELIGIBILITY

You may live anywhere in the world, but you MUST have been posting to RCS REGULARLY(2-3 posts of more than one sentence/per week on average) since December 10th, 2004 and have shared a minimum of 3 layouts with the group during the perios of December 1st to February 15th to be eligible. Not to worry! If you are not eligible for this contest, I do intend on running another one in the spring sometime. Just keep on posting regularly and sharing your layouts with us.

LAYOUT

Create a 12x12 layout (one page) titled, "The Bear Necessities" You can spell it anyway you want and do what you like with it, use whatever techniques you want to use, but you must use at least 3 pictures and include journaling. The layout must be scanned or photographed and sent to Feb2005contestATr-c-sDOTinfo as an attachment. However before you send in your layout, you must send in the info requested on the email form provided. In the event that you cannot scan your layout, you may send it in. Please email me for my snail mail address. Photocopies are acceptable but have to be good enough for me to scan. Please be aware that I will NOT be sending anything back to you. If you are unable to use the email form please email me and I will send you an email with the info.

Be careful not to infringe copywriter laws. Should you use someone else's words (i.e. lyrics) please make sure that you forward a written authorization by the artist.

Three judges, none of which are members of RCS have agreed to judge the contest. One is a scrapbook store owner, one is a CM consultant and the third is an artist who scrapbooks. These judges were chosen specifically because of their varied backgrounds. Each judge will be given the link to a web page that will contain the entries in random order. The entries will be identified only by number. The judges will score the entries based on artistry, ingenuity and imagination, journaling and overall effect and then rank them. Average rank will determine the winner. If there is a tie, the total score given by the judges will determine who wins. If there is still a tie, I'll shoot myself and that will be the end of the contest!

All Layouts must be in my hands by 8:PM Eastern on February 28th, NO exceptions. So please don't wait till the last minute, especially if you are snail mailing. If I don't have it by the deadline, I will feel sorry for you, but it will NOT be judged!

Baring any unforeseen circumstance I will email the judges the link to the web site at 8PM on March 1st. Remember, I have to build a web page and make sure that all the entries are properly featured. And I need to email the contestants back to tell them that I received their email/snail mail. The winner will be announced NLT March 31st, 2005 and the winning entry will be posted on the web site with an announcement made on the newsgroup.

The winner will receive a K&Company Album Kit and a Bazzill 12 x 12 paper pack. The choice of the prize is at the discretion of the owner of Not Just Scrapbooks, LLC.

Should you have any questions, please email me at Feb2005contestATr-c-sDOTinfo. In Summary:

  1. You must be Eligible to enter.
  2. You must email the details that make you eligible using this link using the email form on the website.
  3. You must submit your layouts as an "attachement" to Feb2005contestATr-c-sDOTinfo

Happy Scrapping,
