Arghhh! Scrapbooking dilemma

How much would it cost to have them reprinted smaller? Maybe just pick a few.

Lori, I can't remember who had some lo using a collulzal (sp) template which looked like a collage of scenery and it was very nice. I have used one of those frame things that make your page look like a mosiac on some scenes from a vacation in the souh west. Also effective in making a lo of scenery is using different shapes, circles and squares.

Lori, I had the same problem with some pictures and I made an accordion fold out on one page to accommodate 4 pictures in the same space of one! Plus I made like a fold over card put a photo on the outside top and photo on the inside top and left the inside bottom for journaling! There are lots of ways to put extra pictures on a page...there is even a company that makes pull-outs and such, it is called Kinetic Scrapbooking!

I honestly would use a photo album if I had that many pictures of one event. You can make 4X6 mini layouts to place in the photo holders when you want to make titles, and journaling...just intersperse with the pictures in the book. I was so hung up on "scrapping" my pictures the "right way", but Stacy Julian and Simple Scrapbooks has made me see that putting my pictures in a photosafe album, as long as I include journaling and titles IS scrapping the right way!! Plus it makes your pictures immediately available to those who want to look at them! Arleen

if you have the money to get them reprinted.. get them wallet sized and you can do a top border and a bottom border of all the neat ones... just an idea.. HTH

I know how it is getting all the beautiful landscape photos on a page. I do tend to like the 4x6 better...but you run into the dilema of what you are going to use and how is it going to fit. Using Page Flippers and accordian style elements will help your to include all of your wonderful photos without trimming any of the scenery. Good Luck Lori....I know you will do a great job!

I have thought about that, I can print them on my home printer but I just don't feel as confident on the colors and such keeping over time. Maybe if I just reprinted some of these harder to crop ones might not be a bad idea! Thanks!

Hi, Lori, I'm new here, but I had to jump in on this subject. My husband works for HP in the inkjet printer division and depending on what paper you use the photos should be as bright and vibrant and when you printed them for years. They have done aging testing up to 75 years before some papers start to fade. Of course, if you are just putting the pictures in a frame in bright sunlight, then you can expect them to fade sooner, just like a "real" picture. You just have to use the best paper for your printer and use the best settings. We sometimes get prototype printers, and I have been been using them for years with scrapbooking and I have never had a problem. Generally, whatever brand your printer is, that is the brand of paper you want to buy since the companies have specially formulated the inks for their printers to match the paper. Not all are created equal. I can tell when I have gotten cheaper paper. The colours are not as vivid. I hope this all makes sense to you. You might want to try printing some. If they don't turn out like you think they should, then you can have them professionally done.

Thank you - I have read that on the HP web-site, I have used the HP paper but right now I have a huge pack of Kodak photo paper. It is much easier to find! I just somehow feel better hearing it from a scrapbooker so I appreciate it- I will go ahead and print with my HP then!

Wow! I never would have considered that! I have an HP Photosmart 7350 printer and I've been getting very concerned because one day the pictures all started printing "washed out". I bought new toner and the problem continued. I've tried various sizes & files. I've tried printing directly from the memory card and from downloaded pictures (using the software provided by the camera to print). My birthday cards and other projects printed clear and vibrant. It was only photos.

I have been using the OfficeMax buy one-get one free pack of paper. I'm going to go out and buy a pack of HP paper ASAP! Thank you SO much!

You're welcome. I know the HP paper isn't cheap, but it sure makes a difference with the HP printers. Let me know if you can tell a difference.
