scrapbooks etc. or my favorite is PAPERKUTS..

The 2 that I like are Making Memories and Simple Scrapbooks. (I just subscribed to this one this week.) But-- I have found that depending on my mood, one is better for some things than others (in general)...but among them all, I keep coming back to those two.

You may want to try Paperkuts. I really enjoy both my CK and Paperkuts subscriptions and I have noticed they both are different. One thing I like about Paperkuts is that they give you details on what is exactly on a page. I recently looked at a technique in CK and was still flabbergasted on how they did it after reading about it. The techniques in Paperkuts are simpler, the layouts are not as busy and just as good as CK. This group tuned me into them and I am glad! Just my two eyelets. Jacqui

Thank-you all for your opinions, particularly "Jacqui". She not only listed her favortie sb mag. but told me a little as to why she likes it. That helps me in trying to make a decision without having to purchase a single copy of every sb magazine available, there is so many it would be quite costly. I, like most sb, have alot of supplys, paper, stickers, fibers, metal embellishments, mesh, eyelets-brads, etc. But, I don't have a Sizzix, I'd love to, but the template sets (letters, shapes, etc.) are way out of my price range. I sometimes watch Scrapbooking on the DIY channel, but there as well as so many sb mags use Sizzix in their sample layouts that I can't implement the designs I see. Thanks again, LM

I really enjoy Paper Kuts for the reasons Jacqui outlined, and I love Simple Scrapbooks, because they give tips on using some of the things in your stash a different way. One month it was stickers, another it was page toppers. I don't always use the gift scrapbook ideas in there, but I recently did a 6X6 gift album and some of the ways that SS teaches to do that were very helpful. Hope you find one that you like, Arleen

I subscribe to Paperkuts and buy Creating Keepsakes at the store if they have enough new ideas in the magazine to make it worth the purchase. I go through the ads and visit the web sites for ideas and info on the new techniques - when I have time. With an In-Home ChildCare and two and a half children at home there never seems to be any time left over at the end of a day. Paperkuts is a more down to earth/simple magazine to me. Most of the time the CK LO's are too busy and it takes a few minute to get past the embellishments and LO to focus on the pictures. Sometimes I wonder why they even use background paper as you can hardly see it. Sandy

My favorite is Simple Scrapbooks with Papercuts running a close second. I like articles of "How to" better than just seeing sample pages. My pictures never seem to conform to the sample pages. Peggy from NJ

I really like Scrapbook Trends, it's one of the newer mags that just came out this year. I like it because it has a lot of lo's and a lot different themes in each issue. It has some "talk" but not too much. Also, the lo's aren't all "works of art" either. I'm a simple scrapper, paper, pens, stickers and the occasional ribbon or fiber. No lumps for me. I want a mag that has lo's I can scraplift, not ones that cost a fortune and take forever to make because they've got so many embellishments and details on them.

A good one for lots of ideas is Scrapbooking and Beyond. It's new this year too. It's light on the lo's but covers cardmaking and other papercrafts. Usually has some pretty good stuff in it.

Katrina, Could you tell me where you found these magazines. I haven't seen either. I looked up scrapbooktrends.com and came up with nothing. It sounds exactly like what I want. I, too, want simple LO's that don't cost a fortune. It seems like Creating Keepsakes is all about selling more and more stuff. Thanks for the help.

Check with your LSS. Most stores have die cutting machines that you can use for free if you purchase the paper there.

Carolyn, Scrapbook Trends I first picked up at my local Archivers sb store. The second one I found at Hobby Lobby. What part of the country are you in? I get Sb & Beyond at my local grocery store, but I think I've seen it at Micheals and HL as well. Good luck finding them. Better yet, e-mail me your address and I'll send you a prescription card out of each one. It might help to find it on the rack if you have an idea what the cover looks like.

I get Scrapbooking and Beyond at Books a Million. I've found it at that store both here and in Florida. As for Scrapbook Trends, I guess that's the only one I haven't seen yet.

I was going to bring a copy to OK, but, naturally, I forgot. LOL
