Hints for Coluzzle Care an Use

We used to do this on occasion in the past, pass on tips and hints and such for use and care of different tools and things we use. Since we have a lot of new people in group, and everyone does NOT read all the goodies in the group FAQ, wondered if these kind of posts might be welcome again?

From my personal learning experiences with Coluzzles and things I learned and did, I wanted to pass these tips along.

As there are several tracks in the nested shapes for different sizes, a way to keep track of what size you are cutting or need to make to say make a mat around a picture, take a different colored marker and trace along the tracks. You then lay the coluzzle over the picture and you can center it and see which track you need to cut along.

Most important when using the coluzzle, use the swivel knife!! and keep a sharp blade in it!!! HOWEVER, take your time and learn how to hold the knife vertically and swivel or twist it between your finger tips to maneuver it thru/along the cutting tracks. GO SLOW to avoid making cuts and nicks in the templates!1

If you make cuts or nicks, take a fingernail file and from the opposite side you made the cut, very carefully file the nick down then put clear nail polish on it.

Finally store the coluzzle's flat. THEY WILL WARP!!!

Hope these tis help those who have recently acquired some and maybe others can add to or pass on their tips.

Thats a pretty good idea about coloring the nested shapes! I only have the circles and sometimes forget which one I used to cut. Thanks for those tips Dave!
