Best Stabilizer to Use on Bib

Mar 06, 2009 1 Replies

Can anyone tell me what's the best stabilizer to use for applique on a cotton interlock bib - cut-away or tear-away? Also, if I were to use cut-away, does anyone have any tricks for covering up the stabilizer on the back? Thanks!

Dear Bethany,

I would use neither. I would opt for one of the water soluble stabilizers. They work great, and disappear after being dipped, or washed, in water. Another tip. If you do a large project, remove the stabilizer in a bowl of water, and save the water. You can then dip a piece of fabric in it, and when it's dry, you can embroider or applique anywhere on the piece.
