Holiday Embellishment Box arrived in Indiana

The Holiday Embellishment Box was just delivered. Today is a busy day and I won't be able to take a look until tomorrow. As soon as daycare closed I'm off to Evansville for the Otter's Baseball game with DS. It's Cub Scout Family Night.

I hate to say it, but rain would be nice to cancel the trip as it has really been a bad week and an evening home would be nice. DD (age 13) and I got back home late Monday evening from our weekend in Gatlinburg. Tuesday afternoon one of her best friends drowned at church camp. It was very hard to tell her and we've tried to keep her close by and busy. I took her to the funeral home for visitation last night and she fell apart. His Mom is doing well and actually was able to comfort DD. It was a difficult evening. I had a difficult time too, It's hard when it's a child. Brought back so many memories of the loss of my nephew at the age of 14 several years ago. We just sat in the van and cried. School starts in two weeks and I think that will be a really hard time as they were bus buddies and lab partners at school. She asked me last night to help her make a tribute page in her album for him. I'm going to take her to look for paper tomorrow. Sandy

hi Sandy

I'm glad the box made it to you ok. I'm sorry about the loss of your DD's friend. I lost my friend when we were 15 and I know how heart wrenching it is.

Just remember there are good days and then there are bad days and both can be handled with opened ears and closed lips. My minister was a godsend back then.

Hugs, Kate

Sandy...

I am so sorry to hear about your daughter's friend. I know exactly what she is going through. I still get emotional 12 years after my best friend in school died. My heart goes out to her and your family, and the family of the child that was lost. You are doing the best thing possible for her. Just keep her close to you and comfort her when she needs it. My prayers are with all of you.

Many hugs and comfort,

Amanda

Oh my Sandy. How aweful for your DD and for you. My prayers are with you guys and with the parents whose lost is such a difficult one. I went through this with my son when a friend of his committed suicide and all you can do is be there for them and keep an eye out that they are not keeping it all in. I hope your DD gets through this with as little distress as is possible and that she has other close friends that will also help her to share and bear this loss.
