Would anyone be interested? I enjoy hosting swaps and have been itching to make some of these. I'm just putting out a feeler to see if there's interest. I think the only swap going right now is the diet recipe one, which I need to get to work on. I'm thinking a mid to late Feb due date. Is that too long? I usually like to make it right at a month but w/ the other swap going I don't know. Give me some opinions.
If you don't know what an atc is it's an artists trading card. RJ has made several and has them in her webshots album if anyone is curious. You can also do a search to get more info. Katrina in KS
I have seen some ATC's but I was wondering.myself what to put on them. Do you just make it pretty however you want, or make it something that relates to ourselves? Also, should they all be the same for the swap? What do you put on the reverse side of them? What material do you use for the base? I have heard of playing cards...not sure about that.
I know..lots of questions! :-) Can anyone offer suggestions? I might be interested in doing this.
This grabs my interest, although I'll certainly need to do some research, I've never heard of them before now. I did have a look at RJ's work, very nice :) I'm wondering if I'd have the ability to be so creative. Have you decided on a deadline at this stage? luv Cec...xxx
I'll definately think it over. Would there be a particular theme? What if the cards were about ourselves? A mid to late Feb. due date sounds fine. That would give everyone in the diet recipe swap a chance to get that done and ready for the ATC card swap if they wanted to join in.
Here I am! (in case anyone was wondering) Okay, I've read all the replies. I must say, I didn't know the subject would generate this much chatter.
Here's a list of who's interested: Jessica, Lynne, Cathy & RJ
Here's a list of maybes: LindaC, Deb, Kenda & Cec
Thanks for sharing the websites RJ. I knew you'd have some. I appreciate it.
Now I'm going to tell everybody what I expect from this swap. I'm the hostess so I can do that, you know? 8-} The cards are an artistic expression. Originally all I wanted was a signature in the corner. After reading all the chatter I don't have any problem w/ a brief bio on the back, no photos though. Keep in mind that these are only the size of a baseball card. I do expect both sides to be decorated. No blank backs w/ a list of about mes on them. They must be flat. You can paint, ink, use layers of paper, rub-ons, clear backed stickers etc. This is artistic impression, of which I have none, but I'm giving it a try. I've seen some pretty crappy stuff that people call art so I'm not so worried about how mine will look and you shouldn't be either. Just have fun and don't over think/analyze what you're making. None of the cards need to be the same. I think it would be easier to make them random. If they're the same then you're using a template. This is art, just have fun w/ it! If you feel more comfortable w/ duplicates though I understand and I won't fault you for that.
Now that you've read my long winded message if you're still interested please e-mail me. I'll set a due date of Feb 20th. Hopefully those that were uncertain about joining have enough info now to make a decision. I look forward to hearing from you. I'll close the swap Thursday the 12th and you'll get mailing instructions & final details via e-mail then. We'll make as many as what we have signed up. Could be more than 10 or less than 10.
Hi Rach, I have copied Katrina's post below which I got from Google Groups....HTH
