I gotta ask....hehe

I must be honest, in drooling over Pampered Chef items, and making a wish list, I got to thinking just how handy their utensil caddy thingy would be for several of my scrapping/stamping/crafting tools. I'm seriously considering buying 2 at my party. *hangs head in shame* One for the kitchen utensils so I can free up a drawer, and a second for my various crafting tools, scissors, etc. So I just have to ask, how many have a kitchen gadget holder, or gadget itself, in your crafting inventory?

I myself have used plates or plastic lids to trace around for circles. I've used styrofoam plates for paint, too. I keep a plastic disposable spoon in my crafting tool supply to use with embossing powders. Not to mention the empty small "Crystal Light" container holding my stipple brushes, watercolor brushes, bone folder, and various other goodies. Or the plastic tumbler from college for all my scissors! Or the various plastic cups I've swiped over the years for water when I'm painting.

So fess up....who's raided the kitchen or shopped in the housewares aisles at the stores for crafting items? I just want to make sure I'm not the only one. LOL

Deb, rest asure your not alone. I have the Pamper Chef utensil holder to. Its still in the box but I plan on using it in my craft room when it is complete. I use the small fruit cup tuberware dishes you can get in the dollar store for my glitter this way I can take a plastic spoon scope out some and its easier to put the exessive back.

I do arts and crafts with kids at my job, and sometimes it feels like we use more kitchen stuff to make art than art stuff. For storage, from the dollar store: the stuff that's like Gladware, but way cheaper, and dishpans. Styrofoam plates and bowls for mixing paint, plastic cups for water to rinse brushes in, styrofoam bowls again for holding glue when we want to paint it on something, paper towels for a cool "tie-dye" project, toothpics for paper twirling, food coloring for dyeing stuff, paper plates for making masks and all sorts of stuff, and not to mention all the craft projects you can do with food. Uncooked rice stuffed in balloons to make juggling balls, toothpics and gumdrops to make architectural sculptures, flour and water to make your own playdough, etc.

Hello!

My name is Carol and I am new to scrapping and stamping. I enjoy reading your posts and thought that I would let you know that I just received my "Pampered Chef utensil caddy thingy." I loaded it up as soon as I took it out of the box. It is great! I will keep reading the posts to find out other useful tools.

Have a great day! Carol

I use a few things Deb! Mostly frosting containers.

Can't live without the Gladware; I always raid the kitchen for large circles (plates and tupperware bowls). And the Dollar Tree with their nifty hexagon containers with screw on lids!!!! Sandy

I have a tool turnabout from Pampered Chef already in my kitchen (I LOVE IT) and I want one for my craft desk too! I just went to one of those parties last month, and I think they are clearancing that item from their inventory. I like it because you can take it apart at the bottom to clean the sections in it. I discovered that little feature accidentally when trying to clean it one day a few months ago. I have had it for like 4 years, And all this time I have been scrunching up my little scrubbies and dishrag down in the holes to clean it! I felt sooooo stupid...lol

I also use paper plates or old butter dishes and lids for painting. I use some rubbermaid containers for storage too.

I have a Tupperware condiment(?) caddy on my table. It has three cups and they're all connected w/ a handle sticking up the middle. I got it at a party as a prize for one of the games. I use it to keep all my frequently used tools (scissors, tweezers, bone folder, pens etc) in. For me the PC caddy would be too big. I can't think of anything else I have. Oh wait! I do have some drawer organizer/dividers and a silverware holder in some drawers in my craft room too.
