OK, this is going to be the largest raggy quilt I've made to date: I've started doing a raggy quilt slipcover for my couch.
Once I finish that, if I've not run screaming down the road yet, I'll do one for the recliner.
Both pieces of furniture are in good shape---only two years old---except that Sarah the late Siamese QI didn't handle well the early days in this house.....the lack of a cat door, lack of coming and going on HER say-so....and mommy not being home all day every day, which was what she was used to. So the arms are kind of shredded.
No, they're not. There's no "kind of" to it. The arms are shredded.
(In her defense, it *is* basically cheap furniture, and often the cheapest part of "cheap furniture" is the quality of the fabric....)
I'm using 10" fabric squares, which will end up with 9" finished squares. It might even end up being reversible---I've got enough dark green fabric to back the whole thing. The front will be patchwork, all from my collection of pig fabrics. About time I found a use for them! :)
I'm going to make all the blocks first, then worry about layout. That should let me figure out how many squares I have of each fabric and get them pretty evenly mixed. I'm thinking about making the cushions different depending on which side is up: patchwork on one, and a solid pig fabric on the other side.
