Is anyone ready for another ATC swap?

Hi! I'm new to this group, so what types of materials can you use in your swap? I use polymer clay most of the time. Would it be possible to use polymer clay for the ATC's in your swap? I've been so inspired by Cathy Johnston's ATC's made out of polymer clay. If you would like to see what I am talking about go to

Oh, what are the details of swaps on this group? I've participated in a number of swaps but most of them have been polymer.

I love the polymer clays. I have been making some really nice roses and even made a new family member. His name is Zeak. I will post a picture later.

Theses clays are way fun.

I also like paper quilling, but have to wait to get the garage cleaned out so I can find my paper shredder (the strip kind if perfect for making quilling papers from colored paper!)

Helen, can you get the clay as thin as paper? If so, I'm intrigued. I actually use a playing card for mine. The only requirement is that they be flat. No 3-D embellishments.

Robert, ATCs are artist trading cards. You can do a search and you'll find several galleries. They're 2.5"x3.5" and they're just an artistic expression of the person making them. They can be handdrawn, painted, collaged, stamped, pretty much anything.

Sandy, Kate & Jessica, I'll post an official sign up this weekend w/ more details. I was thinking about whether to have a theme this time or not. Maybe, you'll have to wait and see. 8-}~

I really like working with polymer clays too. I bought a hand cranked pasta maker at a yard sale to help with making stuff. One evening a friend and I made many different things for our scrapbooks and card making.

I haven't quilled in a while. I got 2 kits from the dollar tree last year and had so much fun. I'll have to look around and do some more quilling.

Wow Robert I never thought about using a paper shredder to make quilling paper. Thanks for the tip. Now I can use any color paper I want. Thanks!

Yah, got the off DIY Scrapbooking and single the paper shredder is just sitting collecting dust why not.

BTW the strip paper shredders are getting very hard to find. If you have any interest in Quilling and don't have one get one soon. They are all moving towards the confetti cut ones which are worthless for quilling paper.

Hi Katrina, If you use Kato Polyclay you can roll is as thin as paper and is quite amazing. If you would like to know more about polymer clay ATC's, I am teaching a class on polymer clay ATC's at Ravensdale 2006. Cathy Johnston
