Kate: photographic stamps

Could you tell me how you ink up your photographic stamps? I have some beautiful ones that are Christmas themed, however I am having difficultly getting them to stamp clearly. I was looking over your webshots account and came across the little girl stamp you did. I'm sure I'm not the only one that could use the advise. Please, pretty please, with sugar on top? Okay can I bribe you with chocolate? LOL TIA

Hi. The little girl stamp took a lot of patience and a brand spanking new black ink pad. I found the "colorbox" stamp pad did the best as it is raised and really juicy.

I inked it several times pushing hard to goop it up. I then pressed the paper onto the stamp and pushed the paper on the stamp making sure I didn't move it. If you have a large brayer it works well.

Then lift the paper off the stamp. Hopefully you'll get a clean image. If you don't then reink the surface again and huff and puff (no spit please) on it to moisten the ink.

Then just put the stamp on top of the paper and step on it.

You have to work the stamp and then cut it out.

HOpe this helps.

Thank you!!!! I took some stamps to work yesterday along with the items you talked about and I must say they turned out wonderfully!!! Thank you so much, I even passed the info on to my DM as she as some photo christmas stamps she hasn't been able to get stamped correctly. I'll let you know how that turns out for her. Again, thanks a million! Now I just have to color in these gems and I'm well on my way to having Christmas cards started. YEAH!!!
