March Challenge Completed.... I hope

I've never done a LO using a sketch so I wasn't sure how closely things needed to match or how loosely we could go. I figured I let you all be the judge. I used 24 eyelets and 4 buttons. I was feeling pretty proud of myself. I'm usually a 4 to 8 eyelet person.

Check out the LOs in my challenges album. It's 9:45 pm here so they may not be available for viewing until 10:15 pm.

Lynne, it's gorgeous!!! Wonderful journaling aswell. :) I love the stickers you used on the LH page and all the colours works perfectly together. I had the same problem you had with this challenge, not knowing how much of the sketch is open for personal interpretation. I was even unsure about the sizes of the photos! I've seen in the CK some of her sketches and she also don't always follow it that closely. I loved looking at your LO! Thanks for sharing.

I enjoyed looking through your albums. You wonderful LO's. I also liked your spring border title that you made. The lady bugs are adorable.

Thank you Judy. Something else that made me feel good about this LO was I used all the things I had on hand. No shopping for this LO. I couldn't even find my folder of solid colored paper. Been missing since the roof castrophe. I figure it's in a box some where. Any how I dug around and found some solid paper give to me in a swap and it matched perfectly. The background paper was something that I didn't really care for and kept skipping over, but it worked perfectly here. My friend loves flowers and she has her daughter dressed very girlie these days.

I don't usually put pictures of other people's children in my albums, but I figured since this was such a special day she asked me to help her with I really wanted to remember it with a LO. Speaking of other friend's children I've been thinking of starting a LO of just a collage of photos given to me over the years.

Thanks Chrissy.

The spring border was fun to make. I made I think 12 of them for a swap. The lady bug stickers I had bought didn't have a clear edging... it was white and I didn't like the white border for what I was doing so I used the sticker as a pattern and did paper piecings.

I have the exact same paper I've been skipping over too. Your LO looks great with it. I'm going to have to dig it out and use it now. Thanks for sharing your LO. I have Becky Higgins first book of sketches and she doesn't follow them to a tee either. She uses them as a loose guide to go by. Sandy

I finally got to the computer to see... what a lovely layout! I thinl the colorws are great, the buttons in all the right places and you did follow the spirit of the sketch. I'd call it a well done challenge!

Lynne, very nice LO! I really like the colors and the fiber you chose. I think all sketches are open to personal interpertation....

Well it was my first time and I really wasn't sure. It was the fiber across the middle I wasn't sure about. Would it count as the vertical element it mine was fiber and a really thin line and not the thicker line picture. Then my photos were so big and had to cut one out of the LO to the 3 part element along the bottom of the right hand page. I knew one of the 3 didn't have to be a photo and chose to do a thin journaling box. Next time I won't be so nervous now that I know some personal interpretation is OK.

LOL, why would anyone wait for my stamp of approval! To me it's all about creativity. But I have to admit I thought working with a sketch would be a little boring, but it was a lot of fun!

I am sorry I haven't been on much and am way behind in posting the challenges. I've had the flu complicated by bronchitis and a sinus infection. Finally went to the Doc yesterday who put me on antibiotics and an inhaler. I've been feeling puny as Kenda says and sleeping a whole bunch! Hopefully the antibiotics will kick in soon and I'll be back to my old self! I've been down to the scraproom about 1 hour in the last week!
