That is adorable! Did you look at any of her other things? The one with the three stackable photo cubes is a really cool idea.

Neat. I just made 2 'albums' like this for Maya's 6th birthday! I need to sit down and take pics of them to share. :-)

Looks like they accordion folded 4x4 squares and made them into the box for this project.
I did something a little similar with Maya's birthday cubes-- first I took 12 x 12 cardstock, measured it in 4" intervals on each side, scored and folded the sides with a bone folder for crisp folds, then cut 2 lines on each side so you can fold the pages up.
To add body to the cube, I cut 3.5" textured sticker paper in squares and centered them in each square of the full page. Then I cut pictures in 3.25" squares and adhered them with adhesive squares. Added some stickers, embossing, and hand drawn lines and voila! Picture cubes.
I got the idea from someone who was advertising a class on how to make these. Here's a pic they sent in their email:
