First Mini Album Completed

Hi Everyone!

I've finally uploaded my first attempt at a Mini Album. It's going to be my DS's Christmas gift this year and the topic is her foster daughter and my first niece, Mikayla's first year. She is the first grandchild in our family and everyone's sweetheart! :)

The Mini Album I used is a K & Co Brand and was a gift from our own Marilyn here in the group! If you are reading this : Thanks again Marilyn - I really enjoyed using it :)))

If you all would like to have a peak, the album is at:

or if that does not work, at my webshots addy at the bottom under Mikayla's first Year Album. Thanks for looking and any comments will be appreciated :))

The album turned out wonderfully. I think my favorite page is the one with the lace. I love how you used it there. Then read how naughty it was when you tried to put the album together. haha You had some really great photos for the album. Did you take them or is your sister really great at sharing?

Great job, Judy! So glad webshots finally decided to cooperate with you.

And I love the photo on page 10. Such a pensive look for one so young.

Am sure they'll love the album.

Did you find the smaller format more or less challenging? I was surprised at how much more challenging the one 5.5x8.5 album I did was compared to my usual 8.5x11

She is going to love the gift! You've done a great job! Your neice is a beautiful child, and I don't happen to think that all babies are beautiful; cute yes, beautiful, no!

Judy, Very nice job on the mini album! I'm sure she will love it! She is a really cute little girl! I tried my hand at a mini album over the summer, and it was fun, yet a challenge to get used to the smallness of it compared to 12x12, and how many items you CAN'T fit on a page! lol TFS!

Judy, I really like the way you matched the facing pages. Makes it look like one lagre LO. You had some beautiful pictures to work with. Pages 5/6 and 7/8 are my favorites. The little bears look embroidered. They seem to pull the entire album together. Sandy

Thanx Lynne :) I'm glad you liked the lace LO's! Then the trouble was all worth it! :)) Some of the phodies I took in April when we were all on holiday in Port Elizabeth at my Dad's. The others my DS send me by email from time to time and I saved them to a CD and printed them out at a Kodak Kiosk. I find it works out much more economically that way, than to print them myself at home.

Her DH is an amateur photographer, so they do take quite a lot :)

Thanks Deb! It was my first try on a Mini Album and because I used different paper throughout, I was afraid it would become too "busy" :)

Thanx M-C :))) They visited in October here in Cape Town and we took the most gorgeous pictures then, but I wanted to use only pictures of her first year. Can't wait to scrap those! She's 16 months now :)

Linda, totally agree on the challenging bit, because I do like to use more bulky stuff on my LO's! But I also enjoyed making the album and have learned a lot. I think it works well for a gift, bur I doubt if I would ever use it for myself :) Thanks for looking!

Thanks Sandy :) The bears with the red dungarees are embroidered and all the small bibs, bottles, bears, feet, umbrellas etc I used as embelishments throughout the album, are satin material (that does not look like the right word there, but you know what I mean...lol!) Thanks for looking :)
