Love that patterned paper Marilyn, ( Hey Dave, you got good taste.lol !) and I liked especially the one with the butterflies on it, that page turned out so beautifully, and the 50th page with the little flower bunch on the corner of the picture..that is so cool! Great job!

Beautiful paper. Love the way you matted the photo on the first page with tags behind it. Distressing does seem to take the edge off. Thanks for sharing. Sandy

Love the layout Marilyn, especially the idea of using the file folder.

Thanks Sandy....praise indeed from the distressing queen of RCS.... LOL Funny about the K & Co embossed paper......I had bought a little 6 x 6 pad of smooth paper to use for card-making as I thought it very pretty. I couldn't believe my luck when Dave sent me some 12 x 12 :o) It is just strokable but also very usable!!!!

Thanks Deb......it was a real pleasure to do this LO as I have been in a scrapping slump. The paper was the inspiration I needed to get going again :o)

That looks very elegant, Marilyn. Did you do some chalking or inking on the edges on your journaling?

Judy...thanks for your comments and in answer to your question the edges are inked to take away the harshness of the cutting. You know...I rarely do a LO now without putting all my edges over an inkpad....sometimes the same colour as the cardstock or sometimes more like a distressing colour. If you use cardstock with a white core it tones everything in and I even run my cropped photo edges over the inkpad. I am much happier with the end results!

Take care, Marilyn

That is something I've never tried and will definitely give a go. I also don't like the "sharp" edges, especially of cardstock. You know what - was your first LO the ones of your parents? I think I might have looked at the wrong pictrures! LOL
