Sandy...thanks for all your comments on the digital LO's. Just wanted to = say that I don't use a "scrapbook programme" as such.....mine's are done = in a "graphics" program, which is very different! I used Adobe Photoshop = for these two LO's but an easier, less expensive option is Jasc Paint = Shop Pro. Also check if you got anything bundled with a digital camera = or scanner. I know that some cameras are now being bundled with Adobe = Photoshop Elements, which is PS's little brother :o) With that quality = of programme you can put in dropped shadows, bevel and emboss items to = give them the look of 3 dimensions...everything on these two pages is = made by me....apart from the two pictures :o) =20
I have in the past tried card-making proggies or single use software but = I always find them too restrictive and ultimately frustrating, so I = steer well clear, as I feel they are a waste of money. Most of them are = directed at peeps who have little or no knowledge of computers, let = alone software capabilities. They hand hold and give a very quick = result, getting people started on the journey. Anyone who is artistic = would quickly feel let down by most of them! I know Kate has said she = uses Hallmark Scrapbook software for quick LO's, perhaps it is better. = I have never used it or even researched it, so I couldn't say one way or = the other...my comments are in general from my personal experience with = single use software. I would suggest before you part with any dollars = get a free trial and play....if you like what you see them buy!
I don't think that paper scrapbooking will ever be totally replaced by = digital...it is just another alternative. Some of the advantages...no = shopping required, it is fast and flexible, you can make slideshows to = share with more people. I have printed one of these LO's at 8 1/2 x 8 =
1/2 and mounted on a 12 x 12 cardstock. I also printed out some of the = elements of it and modified it a little...creating a 12 x 12 LO with a = few changes. I will see if I can scan them later and let folks see what = can be achieved.
I like your LO, Marilyn. Thanks for sharing. I digital scrapbook = program is definitely going on my future purchase list. Sandy
The post it note is just a square selection on a new layer filled = with yellow, then the opacity reduced so you can see through to the = fence behind. I then selected free transform and rotate...grabbing the = handles I tilted it slightly. The text Water Daily! is on another layer = and again I selected Free Transform and rotate, tilting about the same = as the post-it note! The bazzill effect is created by applying a texture = filter to a background or selection or whatever. If you have a graphics = package that works with layer you can do the same....easy...honest!!!!
Marilyn
I wanna know how you made the clip. the post-it, and the cardstock = that looks like bazzill!!! It's a great layout!!!
