"Trading Pages" the Details

OK, so it looks like I have enough interest to try and do this... I've taken all the posts into consideration and have come up with the following guidelines:

The swap will be for a 2 page LO, in the size specified by the recipient. If you don't have any other 2 page LOs in your book, please specify and you will instead receive two 1 page LOs. You can submit as many photos as you like, but keep in mind that they probably won't all be used... conversely, if you receive 10 photos, try not to design a one-photo LO... (Make sense?) Try not to limit your recipient's options... if the LO you submit is, for example, of a Girl Scout event, you willl probably want to make sure that a group photo is included on the LO, or if it's a soccer LO, a tream photo. If there is a specific photo you cannot do without, please make a note of that, but also please avoid submitting those photos in the first place. If there are things you really don't want in your album (3D Embellishments) please specify as such... if you're OK with eyelets but not other things, please say so. But again, please try to limit restrictions as much as possible. So here is what I need from you in order to participate:

4-+ photos for a 2 page LO Journaling for those photos and a main journaling block. (It may be edited to fit the LO... if it's a specifc poem or quote, please specify!) An email to me with subjects you'd like to scrap... girl stuff, boy stuff, wedding stuff, whatever! Also let me know what format you'd like you finished LOs in... If you prefer digital or hard copy photos, let me know as well... both to submit your photos and to receive from someone else.

You will assemble the pages and send them to the proper recipent, to be added to their albums. I will create an album on my Webshots account to display all of the LOs, if you like.

I will collect all the photos and then sort them and send them on to people. You can also email photos to me and I'll output them and send them on. (We'll go on a case by case basis for the details of this part... I'm not sure how many people will need this, and how we'd figure sizing of pictures and such)

OK, so I think that's everything... My email is thedesigngirl at earthlink dot net My mailing address is Lizz Parsons

How about deadlines? I don't want to rush anyone, so let's say I need to have photos by Fri. Nov. 14, I'll get them all out to people by the following Friday (Nov. 21) and we'll say LOs should be returned by the end of the year (that would be Dec. 31)

Sound reasonable to people?

Please let me know ASAP if you want to participate!

I'm really excited about this!

1~ How many people would we be scrapping for? Is it just one person or do we get more ppl than that? I think I know the answer but I want to be sure before I commit to this =)

2~ Can I get Mindy to do my pages PLEASE!?!?!?!?! I don't even care if she uses my pics as long as she sends in some tags ;)

3~ Would it be easier if along w/the pixs that person would also send their pages? I use 12x12's but wouldn't mind doing an smaller LO. I just don't see me buying a whole stack of a paper size I'll never use again.

4~ Journaling Do we send the printed final version of our journaling or just the info?

5~ Woulnd't it be easier for you (not to mention less painful on your pocket) to get all the info from everyone on the swap & pair them up. Then email each person individually w/the name and maybe address of where to mail your stuff. I'm thinking like what Shelley does w/the NSSSS.

TIA

Just one...

LOL

You can buy single sheets of paper at your LSS or Michael's... it costs usuay less than $1 a page...

Just the info... designig what it would look like is part of the LO

I suppose this would make more sense... anyone else?

That works for me! So I will need hard copies of whoever's photos I'm paired up with, because I don't have a way to print digital photos. Caitlin in WA

Good guidelines. Thanks.

Awesome idea!

Very reasonable. Thanks for organzing this. I'm pretty excited myself. This is the first swap I've done here. I'm not normally big on swaps, but this is definitly different.

Check your email! ;)

I'm assuming just one, right Lizz?

Hey, no fair. No requests ;)

This was discussed in the other thread a bit. Just do the page on the cardstock. No need to send the page.

Why would you need a whole stack of paper. Wouldn't you just buy exactly what you need for the layout? You can always cut down 12x12's if you get somone who does 8.5x11.

I was thinking the same thing. We email her with our 411 (address, email, etc) and then she does the pairing and sends out info to just the swapees. Much less work and postage for Lizz. Less travel time our photos take in the mail, kwim?

My thoughts exactly on the cost factor, not to mention the time and resource management. MY QUESTION, willbe be emailed personally on who our partner is or will it be in the group?

I know there is no such thing as a stupid question on this NG, but here goes . . .

when we are finished out lo's and ready to post to recipient, in what size envelope can we send 12 x 12 lo"s so that they are safe?

Please let me know.

This is going to be fun! esther

Oh, good question. I didn't think of that either.

Esther When I mail my 12 X 12 pages to memory makers I send them in a puffy envelope with lots of cardboard or I use a pizza box HTH

Shelley

Esther, Pizza boxes (inused,of course lol) make perfect boxs for sending

12 x12 paper and pages.

Oh geez, I knew I shouldn't've started reading these threads. Now I want to do it too! 8-) I understand that you're taking requests for what we'd like to do, but don't you need to know what theme pics we'll be offering up so that you can make some matches? I'm going to find some that I haven't scrapped because I've had a hard time coming up w/ ideas. Prolly some of my Durango to Silverton train ride pics. I went two years in a row so it'd be nice to have someone else do one of the lo's for me. Anyways, looks likes I'm in too! I'll be sending you my info.

I understand that you're taking requests for what we'd

Well, I'm not Lizz, but I'll try to answer. Even though she is asking for general specifics (oxymoron anyone?) like album size, type of picture, boy/girl theme, that's about it. The point is to get something totally unexpected and do what you don't normally do. IMO, it would get a little boring and an element of surprise would be lost if she matched everyone by

*specific* themes.
