Modge Podge question

I made my daughter a little table for her playroom, painted it blue, and put some little fairy 'wallies' (cut from wall paper border) on the top. Do y'all think if I put a few coats of modge podge on top to seal it would be okay? Any better suggestions? I really don't want to put something like polyurethane on it, I always wind up with lots of bubbles and it stinks so much it aggravates my allergies--besides the temps here have been over the 100s for several days and I can't do anything in the garage. TIA-

Never used the stuff. If it was water proof I would think it would work. I have only decoupaged with Elmer's glue when I was in grade school. Don't crinkle your nose, they didn't no better back then. It was what `70's. And, no that isn't the 1870's, the 1770's or the 1670's. It was the 1570's I look awesome for my age! :)

Sorry too much exercise. 6 mile walk out at the coast today. Too hot in Santa Rosa.

Hi.

There is a modge podge that is water proof but I've never used it. As far a shelack is concerned I always use the foam brushes for my stuff.

I'd say use modge podge and when the cooler weather gets here add the shelack.

Even a spray sealant would work well if it was waterproof.

Robert, your one funny guy!

Re: the modge podge I have only used it for crafts so I'm not sure either. I just looked at the lable and it doesn't say much either. Sorry, wish I could be of more help. Good Luck! Michelle P.

Yeah, I heard that whole northwestern area was having really hot weather the past two days!

Wow! 6 miles! It was always too cold and windy for us with our little one, it used to amaze me that the temps at the beach were usually around

20 degrees cooler than town! :-)

Thanks, Kate!

This is her do-all table, she can do crafts/art there, have pretend tea parties, do 'homework', etc. Sometimes when she has friends over though, they get paper cups of water for their 'tea'--yesterday they spilled some and the paint changed color. Fortunately I got it up fast before the wallies peeled up or anything.

I've got a whole bunch of objects, vases, pottery picture frames, and more that I've modpodged. When we moved and my bedroom decorations change, I'd just do them over if they no longer fit ithe color scheme. The worst that has happened to them has been for them to stick just slightly to wrapping paper during a move and eveen then all I had to do was wipe the tiny little bit of paper that had stuck to it with a wet cloth. They still look pretty good and they've been moved and unpacked 7 times and travelled more than

6000 miles over a 12 year period.

I try, but it only really seems to happen when I am off my meds! :)

Yah, Well Sunday it was a 110 in land. The coast was a real life saver. Enjoyed the walk which my doctors says I need to do more often. Not a problem if it is an enjoyable walk.
