My first tag and paper piecing item

Now that the tag swap is done I've posted a picture of my tag. Didn't want to spoil it for those in the swap. It was a lot of fun to make even though I was nerve racked, thinking I didn't have a clue what to do. The paper pieced face turned out really cute. I wondered if I should have used a pop dot for the bangs to give it some dimension. What do you paper piecers think?

Look under the "card making" album.

Nice tag.

I think it would look good either way. Maybe the pop dots would have drawn too much attention to the bangs.

Just my two cents....

Nice saying,

Thank you all for your compliments and comments. I know I'm on the right track with my tag making and paper piecing.

My plan for the quote tag I've shared with a few of you, but thought I'd share with all now. I'm going to make a page for the kid's baby books with all the embarrassing and/or cute stories when they were kids. They ask me all the time to share the stories with them and one day I won't remember.

Like the time my son pulled down the pants of the young man in front of me in a grocery store line. He was wearing them very low on his hips (sagging they call it here). My son was standing holding my hand not quite 2. He lost his balance and reached out to steady himself grabbing on to the guys pants and down they went. His pants must fall down frequently, because he pulled them back up quickly and didn't miss a beat. But boy was I EMBARRASSED!

I thought I'd print these stories out on vellum maybe using different fonts. Put squares of some color in different hues behind the stories. Kind of mosaic them on a page or 2.
