Narrowly averted scrapbooking emergency!LOL

I have to tell you all this since you are the only people I know who will understand!LOL

I narrowly averted a scrapbooking emergency yesterday when suddenly, all my punches went missing. I was making cards and needed the heart punch but when I went to get it, it, and the bag containing all my punches were gone, disappeared, wandered off, kidnapped! I have about 12 of them right now and I can tell you that I panicked! They should have been in my Craftmates tote but they weren't. I checked every place I keep scrapbooking stuff, but nothing. My heart sunk to my feet and I was filled with dread as I finished the cards with the hearts I already had punched out.

I was almost in tears when I finally found them,. They had slipped down BEHIND the caddies in my tote bag.

Hubby thought I'd lost my mind, but I knew that YOU would understand.

Oh yes I do understand. We take such great pride and work so hard at accumulating our scrapbooking tools! Perhaps if you hid the hammer and screwdriver (assuming that unlike in our household where I do the repair work, he is the one to do it) or maybe a better example is the remote control, he would understand better how you felt!

Glad you found them!

My personal trimmer, sticker album and colored paper tote we're all missing for about 2 months. With the construction I thought they'll show up and didn't worry too much. But when I wanted to scrap I didn't realize how much I rely on all 3 things. So, I finally starting really digging for them. I found the sticker album first. Thought it would make me happy. No. Finally found my personal trimmer last week and the colored paper is still missing. I have given up on finding it any time soon so I bought a starter variety pack at Wal-Mart to tie me over. So I totally understand your emergency.

I can understand how you can go into a panick. A few weeks ago this happened to me I couldn't find my tote of paint chips that I needed for a project. My DH's reaction was "oh its in this house somewhere, use something else". NO you can't just use any ole thing. I agree they only way for our DH's to relate is if we take the remote and hide it. My sister did that to our dad once (she hide it for 24 -48 hours) and we went nuts trying to find it. LOL! Finally she gave in and told him where it was.

I actually just took out the batteries from the remote and hid the power cable to the computer (only when he was home) when I couldn't find my stack of scraps.

My DH had hid the pens, scizzors, and scraps in hopes that I would stop scrapping for awhile. He learned his lesson quick and realized that the fight that instigated the hiding of supplies was a war he didn't want to wager anymore.

We've had a peace treaty in place ever since.

OHHH! I do the repairs so the tool thing wouldn't work, but the remote just might! LOL

Thanks for the suggestion!

I was trying to find my coluzzles on Sunday and for the likes of me, couldn't! I had shuffled a lot of paper around and thought, OH NO, they got shoved in somewhere and I'll never find them!! LOL! Yes I have the BEST paper storage cabinet EVER!!! But it is just a bit FULL - LOL!!

Anyhow I moved them out of the extra slot I HAD in my cabinet and did not remember that I moved them. I found them after I FOUND some other page layout templates I had and used for the first time. I was so releived and had no one to blame except, WAIT - THE ENABLERS IN HERE!!!!!

I keep all my scrapping stuff in an old chifferobe we got from my inlaws. It has a bunch of drawers and works beautifully.
