Need Ideas for a Scrapbook Cookbook

I am new to this community but have been scrapbooking and cardmaking for about 2 years now. I am trying to make a scrapbook "Cookbook" (gift) using recipes from various women at church. I find myself drawing a blank as to go about this so I would greatly appreciate any ideas for this that anyone might have.

Thanks in Advance Diana

This is going to be my first project. I got a nice plain little card stock album at a crafts store. I also got some pattern paper with old spice cans on it as some little cooking and baking embellishments. I think I will go with a 3x5 card look as that is how most of the recipe were done by my great grandmother. I will then embellish with the paper and little cooking do dads and maybe some red and white checkered paper or fabric so it looks kind of old timey.

Hi Diana. Welcome to the group. If you go to our website:

and click on swaps and then click on completed swaps, you will find several recipe swaps. There are lots of pages there that should give you some good ideas for your cookbook.

Once you decide on the size of an album -- I'd suggest 6x6-- you can leap from there.

website is full of ideas. You can also browse our photos for inspiration for just the layouts themselves.

Hope this helps.

Actually, I just went to the website to see/revisit the amazing recipe swap pages and there are zero pictures posted! YIKES!! I can take pictures of the Azzy recipe swap pictures and send them on to M-C for posting; who's up for doing the Fast-and-True pics?

Guess I should have looked further before I suggested it. I just assumed they were there! Sorry.

We're talking the RCS website right? I just popped over and the pages are still there for the older recipe swaps. I think the new ones haven't been posted yet, because of M-C being so swamped right now.

If you go to the two peas website and type rcs in search you will find a few of the past recipe swaps there.

I went to a class at the LSS where we made a recipe book. They had a big recipe card stamp and gave us 12 pages to put our recipe on (hand written of course). We brought those to the class and traded so everyone had all 12. Then we stamped the pages using this neat set of cooking stamps to decorate the pages, fastened the pages together with rings and covers, and decorated the spine with material strips and a few charms. I didn't buy the recipe stamp, but just saw it an the Lss last week for sale. I did buy the cooking stamp set, though. I'll try to scan some of the pages this afternoon if I get time and post them. That sounds like it would be very cute. It would make a great gift for a wedding shower...hmmm. My brother is getting married in June, wonder if I could get something like that done for his soon to be bride..Thanks for the idea

Was able to get to the computer for a few minutes this afternoon. I took pictures of the cover and five of the pages in the recipe book. I posted them in my webshots account in the recipe book album

..I am an avid card swapper (Paper Crafts Magazine) and many times thru this past year there have been 6x6 Recipe Swaps....and then I bought several 6x6 albums to put them in...even won a ribbon at last year's fair w/one of them. ..so the suggestion is to scrapbook them in 6x6 and put them in an album. ~~Lorene
