News

Good Saturday morning, everyone.

Noreen and Els already know my news, but I asked them to keep my confidence until the time was right to share it. Now I think it is. For the past year, I have been experiencing changes in my life, which have culminated in my being called to ministry in the Presbyterian Church. I will spend this school year preparing, and making arrangements here, and then next year, I hope to attend Presbyterian College at McGill University in Montreal, where I plan to get a Master's Degree in Divinity. After that I will be ordained, and then who knows? I could end up in any part of the world, so I may be able to see some of you sooner rather than later. There are Presbyterians everywhere, and I could pop up in any country after ordination.

I am really excited about this new direction my life will be taking, and I wanted all my RCTY friends to know about it.

God's blessings on all of you, and I will still be posting here and knitting in whatever spare time I have.

Ah, Katherine, again, now publicly, congratulations! I know that ministry will NOT change who you are, you'll always be our Katherine, sharing a late night glass of wine, cussing without outright cussing (such as freaking and friggin, lol!) God will Bless you, my dear friend! Hugs, Noreen

Wow, Katherine, that's a real change of life style, and I'm so happy for you. I'm sure it will be very hard work and I'm equally sure that you'll thrive on the challenge and the spiritual development that you'll face. What an exciting decision to take. Please be assured that I'll be praying for you and Keith as things progress Love, hugs and congratulations Christine

Good, good morning to you Katherine. Wow, that is an impressive challenge you will be undertaking. I'm excited for you and look forward to hearing more about your new life. Do try to keep the knitting needles warm and think about how you might incorporate your knitting skills into your future ministry.

Hi Katherine,

What great news, congratulations and I hope to see you here in upstate NY some day. It's a great calling, I have three ministers in my family. Gee, however will you stand being in Montreal and not having the weather you are so used to? LOL

Hugs and Prayers,

Nora

Nora do not underestemate Montreal, they still do get tonnes of snow, but maybe now you will get a bit of a Fall. Katherine you are going to keep us posted about the weather, right, and having to shovel snow. Remember Nora, Katherine will have her nose in a book, no time to pay attention to the weather.

My mother has been know to knit socks (apart from turning the heel) during synod meetings!

LOL I think that Montreal's winters are worse than ours! More snow, and wetter. However, I plan to stay in residence, so it shouldn't bother me too much, I hope!

Thank you, Mirjam. We are, indeed, a spiritual family. I guess that our parents did something right.
