So Katherine, may we all come with our knitting, if we promis to just knit and listen, no nattering to one and other. If we run into trouble with say knitting a lace pattern, you can always help us after the service.... would be really nice having the RCTY group all together that way. Having discussions about religion and knitting. (big smile)

Thank you, Gwen. I will be posting from here for the next year, so you will be waiting for a while for my Montreal posts. But be assured, they will come!

Wonderful news Katherine! I am so happy for you! You mentioned in another post about living in residence. I just wanted you to know that in Ontario, the O.E.S. has an award with the acronym E.S.T.A.R.L. Stands for "Eastern Star Training Award for Religious Leadership". These awards are for any one training for religious leadership. Now I don't know about the Chapters where you live. I do know that in Ontario you would apply to a local chapter for sponsorship and your name would go to Grand Chapter for consideration. Here, we awarded 51 applicants this year with $1000 each. I do hope you will look into it, where you are. Please ask around in your own neck of the woods and find out if their is a chapter near you. It doesn't necessarily have to be in your home town. Wish you were here, I know my home chapter would have loved to sponsor you! Again, Congratulations!

Katherine, I just realized.... I know you have one more year there, but when the time comes...

You and Kandace have such a close bond. You will both miss each other terribly when you are in Montreal, and then when you are sent to some other parish which could be far away. :o( Will you be able to have her come visit often?

Peace! Gemini

We have thought about that, Gem, and will worry about it when the time comes. Luckily, there are telephones and e-mail, plus frequent holidays while I am in school. After that - who knows? And she is getting older, too, and wanting to be with her friends more often.

Thank you, Norma, for the good wishes AND the suggestion. I will definitely have a look in Newfoundland, just to see if there are any O.E.S. chapters there.

Hugs, Kather> Wonderful news Katherine! I am so happy for you! You mentioned in

This is the page that shows the different Grand Chapters all over Canada and the United States. Hopefully it'll give you somewhere to start. Let me know if I can help in some way.

Yes. Mum trained in New York and was ordained in the Americal Episcopal Church but has gone home to Australia where she is an Anglican minister.
